I have been kind of analyzing this whole concept of "relearning" everything with each expansion. While i understand the reasoning is to give players basically a whole new game to master, i also have to say that is seems extremely jolting and at times like i really don't want to have to "redo" all of this ALL OVER AGAIN....i think also my biggest beef is that is seems inconsistant as far as the games sense of cohesiveness goes. How do you honestly justify characters suddendly not knowing how to do something like AOE tanking .....or more recently as i discovered that shamans, after all this time SUDDENLY have no disease cleansing ability....that just seems screwed up and poor design decision as far as im concerned. If i had one big suggestion to give to blizzard its this : STOP DESIGNING PVE around PVP. At times i really hate that both are together in the same world, but its also a cool feature to have. So while i don't pretend to have any fast hard answers i also gotta say that all this "relearning" and suddenly "unlearned" skills just kind blows....i would like to see them blend the expansions in a more cohesive way. At least make it make sense. Just my two cents. :)

I have to comment on this. Gmee123, you are 100% off on the PvP/PvE design ideas. The game is mostly balanced around PvE, with any PvP changes being an absolute necessity, not so much a "quality of in-game life" thing. Currently, PvP weapons are not being sold to avid PvPers, but people with top tier level BiS PvE weapons can hop right in and massacre a group of PvP geared people...and I'm just using this as a single, current EXAMPLE. They do their best to balance around PvE first, then PvP, and it has been that way for a decent amount of time.

@XanoYour example proves only that this game is based on gear. Has nothing to do with balancing classes around pvp or not. If you want to see the effects that pvp has on an otherwise viable spec, you should check out some of the warrior changes coming up for 4.0.6. Or any other previous patch for that matter. We constantly have abilities nerfed, redesigned, etc. because of pvp.As for the OP, I do think some of the changes in proficiencies within classes are odd, but some of the specializations that remain are cool (i.e. priests dispel 2 magics at a time while resto druids dispel 1 of everything, etc.).
