Win an iPad during Blizzard's Core Hound Pup Adoption Campaign

The Core Hound Pup is gained by adding an authenticator to protect your Battle.net account. Every one of your World of Warcraft characters has access to this companion pet.
I think this is a great idea to spread the word about authenticators and account security. Authenticators are the best first line of defense you've got to keeping your account safe, along with safe browsing habits. So do yourself and your players a favor and spread the word about Core Hound Pups and authenticators, and maybe even win an iPad out of the deal.
Contest rules are available here.

If your account is protected by a Battle.net Authenticator or the Battle.net Mobile Authenticator, then you already know how safe and secure your Core Hound Pup pet can make you feel. But there are plenty of players out there who can still benefit from the companionship and peace of mind that our infernal puppy provides.
We're kicking off a Core Hound Pup adoption campaign and we need your help! Simply send us funny, cute, or just plain epic screenshots featuring your fiery two-headed buddy. We'll be picking two of the most memorable images each month in 2011 and awarding the winners with a brand new iPad.
If you have yet to adopt a Core Hound Pup of your very own, then don't wait a moment longer, or we just might have to give you the big puppy-dog eyes. Visit our account security site to learn how to get a Battle.net Authenticator or download the Battle.net Mobile Authenticator, available through our mobile apps page or as a free download from the Apple App Store or the Android Market.
Adopt a puppy! Protect your loots! Win an iPad! Read the contest rules for details and eligibility requirements, and happy screenshotting!

This will be excellent if I actually got a core hound pet when I attached an authenticator to my account :(

They send it to you through in game mail, if you didnt receive one like you were supposed to, simply open a ticket and a GM will send it to you.

When I heard there was a Core Hound Pup screen-shot contest, I was like, "Meh". I have the pet but don't really like it too much-- even though it no longer growls non-stop, it's still too noisy for my taste.
But now that I know they're giving away iPads, I'm like "Yay!". I may have to see what I can come up with.

Nope, nothing suggestive about that picture at all.

lol doggie showing the poor goblin his Oh Face(s).
theRaptor Jan 28th 2011 12:28AM
It looks like "surprise love" to me.
I need to get some brain bleach because I can't get rid of that goblin's look of horror.
Saisen Jan 28th 2011 7:12AM
The goblin is suppose to represent a hacker, and your pup is about to make him regret it:)
Hench the reason the core hound is the only pet i use, scares away those dirt bags:)

I lol'ed.
Thanks Classified.

If only my core hound would chase away all the Goblin characters on my server, I would use it. Every. Damn. Day. But alas, Goblins are the new Blood Elf, only more puntable; and I'm Horde.

With the 2nd ipad rumored to be coming around april-may, it'll be interesting to see if they award the next few months winners(after april-may) with 2nd gen ipads instead of 1st. And if so, There will probably be rage from the previous winners.
Zalvi24 Jan 27th 2011 9:27PM
yes just like there was a lot of rage from people that got dual spec at 1k right before they announced they were lowering it
theRaptor Jan 28th 2011 4:35AM
Ugh people like that disgust me. You paid what you thought was a good price for the item at the time so be happy. People who got something 1 day before the price drop are no more deserving of a refund etc than those who bought it years before.
And I have been playing since classic so I remember when a 1000 gold was actually a decent amount of money, unlike these days when that is the amount my character finds under the proverbial couch.
Noyou Jan 28th 2011 5:54AM
Yeah it's quite silly to complain about price drops. I paid 1k gold x6. When I heard they were dropping the cost I was all for it. I have 2 more toons who benefited and who knows how many more along the way. I have made around 10k after cata dropped casually placing items on the AH. I'm sure anyone who puts a little effort into it have made 50k or more. GL on your ipads anyone entering the contest. It's a pretty cool thought if you ask me. The corehound is a nice reward and a low cost perk to those who add account security.

I can understand it from WoW Insider, but it's a little frustrating that Blizzard themselves have excluded us Europeans once again. Yes yes, different countries, different rules, but could they not have excluded the awkward countries (as they appear to have done with some American states) rather than the entire continent?
Dez Jan 28th 2011 6:27AM
Do you really think Apple would let Blizzard give away American iPads in Europe? Not a chance. And the 3G version probably wouldn't work over here anyway, they'd have to run a separate competition for the EU, if anything. And that would just spark off Oceania/Asia/any other WoW catchment area that missed the competition. A lot of hassle, a lot of grief, and for Blizzard, not as profitable as a US competition.
Not that I don't agree with you. Gief us some Europe love, Blizz? Pretty please? :P
Stuart Holdaway Jan 28th 2011 6:46AM
Easy enough to supply a European model iPad instead, and as far as i'm aware the 3g ones have been freely available for some time. At least I see people using them on the tube and at stations fairly frequently.
I know they're an American company, but part of the reason they're so profitable is the European market after all.
theRaptor Jan 28th 2011 7:57AM
America is one country. Europe is dozens, all with different laws regarding give-aways and competitions.
Don't blame companies for the retarded laws of governments (IIRC there is actually some impediment in US law from running competitions open to non-US residents).
ps Jan 28th 2011 6:39PM
"America is one country"
Seriously?
Sorronia Jan 27th 2011 9:51PM
Was excited till I read that both states I have a residential addresses in (Vermont and Connecticut) can't participate. /sigh
Honestly...what gives?
