Indeed! Back before the new shortened talent trees were revealed, I was getting really worried by some blue posts that indicated that they wanted to make the feral tree overfull to avoid making a catbear spec viable. (On one hand I could understand why people might make the argument that it'd be unfair if a catbear spec were viable, since no other spec can do two of the three principal roles, but on the other hand to many people that's the entire point of picking feral out of all the 30 trees in the game.)
Fortunately the increased health pools in Cata really help resolve the old problem that even if cat and bear share most of the same raw gear pieces, they've had to gem and enchant differently. The dual effect of mastery helped a lot too. Now you could gem and enchant for agility and mastery, and the results will be both excellent for cat and at least passable (I think) for bear.
