The Queue: Super The Queue Alpha II Gold Turbo Tournament Edition

I am so hyped up for Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. I got my Tournament Edition fightstick, my Collector's Edition paid up and ready for pickup, my MvC2 downloaded from Xbox Live. Could not be more excited. Can't wait to repeatedly get destroyed by people running Magneto/Storm/Sentinel teams. It'll be like 2001 all over again.
Chips asked:
I just came back to the game after a long break and I noticed several things different about the male troll model. They seem to have a perpetual stubbed toe, some of their hair and shoulder armor clips, and the end of tabards curl upwards. I haven't been able to find much info about this, is this a recent bug, or a deliberate model change?
Male troll models are indeed messed up right now, and the issues are at least partially fixed in 4.0.6.
Omacron asked:
This might be something you can't answer, but considering you were an ex-CM (right?), I'd like to know just how much lore information you're privy to.
Occasionally when lore debates get heated, we have to dig through old blue posts to dig up something said by, say, Caydiem or Nethaera, and some argue that despite being blue posters, their answers aren't "official" lore. In situations where a blue poster posts lore, are they usually going on memory or do they have access to the series bible or something?
It's an important distinction to make that I was a forum game master, not a community manager. I didn't have direct access to the dev or C-dev team, so I couldn't tell you for certain. That said, people have told me that lore answers are usually approved by someone on the dev team before being posted.
Peter-sej asked:
Call me a gold digger if you like -- but I've been grinding legendary weapons for a long time (Thunderfury, Thori'dal, the Stars' Fury & the Warglaives). I've been told that whenever you've killed a boss X amount of times (~50?), you're sure to have the boss dropping its "legendary" item. Can you confirm or decline this hypothesis?
Your odds of receiving a certain drop do not increase depending on how many times you've killed the boss in question. Trust me on this one.
P.S.: I got my Baron's Deathcharger on my first Stratholme run.
Wit asked:
I am planning on purchasing a new computer in the near future and can't find any of my WoW discs. Is there a way to transfer all four games to my new computer without having any of the install discs (or codes)?
You can download the game client for free off of Battle.net, or you can just take your current WoW directory, put it on an external drive, and copy it onto your new computer. Your install will work on any computer that can run the game without your needing to do anything.
Oshocka asked:
Why can we buy faction rep items that bind to account like head enchants, but if we send them to another account, we cannot use them because that toon does not have the required rep for the faction? I bought the arcanum of hyjal on my melee toon to send to my mage that did not have the rep yet, but the mage can not use this. Is this a bug, or did Blizzard design it like that, and if so, it does not make much sense to have a BoA item if all your toons need to reach that factions rep to use?
It's a bug that's being fixed in 4.0.6.

I answer stuff I feel like answering.

Whatever the Great Hair of Sacco tells him to.

Super hyped for MvC3 too, currently going through SSF4 again. I do prefer a megadrive (genesis) controller to a stick, got 2 for my xbox Ryu and Ken.
Drakkenfyre Jan 30th 2011 3:25PM
You need to make a distinction there.
There are two Genesis (Or MegaDrive) controllers. A 3-button which the system shipped with, and a 6-button one that came out later. The 3-button one was terrible for fighters, and resulting in crap like "To do a High Punch, press back and Low Punch" for Mortal Kombat.

Sorry, the coolest kids used one of these bad boys: The Capcom Soldier Pad, the unequivocally best non-fightstick controller for any system ever.

@Sacco: Hear hear, good sir. I still have mine in a box in the attic, and it brings back many fond memories of humiliating my male cousins, who inexplicably thought girls couldn't play fighting games.
I tended to prefer actual sticks though, since I mostly played fighting games in arcades, back when NYC actually had them. Even got banned from a few for hustling dudes at Super SF2 and Children of the Atom...ah, my misspent youth. God I feel old now.

@kylenne
u miss, are a nerds dream come true. now i must go watch "the Wizard".
Nick Jan 30th 2011 4:32PM
I mean 6 button ofcourse.
In fact, possibly the second generation of sega saturn pad. Still use my saturn with ram upgrade for real 2d action! Hope mvc3 is the fighter to knock the oldies off top spot!
Boobah Jan 30th 2011 6:14PM
"There are two Genesis (Or MegaDrive) controllers."
And by an amazing coincidence, the six-button controller just happened to be released (stateside, at least) at the same time Street Fighter 2 hit the consoles.
Drakkenfyre Jan 30th 2011 7:07PM
Yes, but saying "I prefer the Genesis/MegaDrive controllers" without quantifying which one you meant likely would lead to questions.
There are people out there who stubbornly like an inferior method to superior methods. There are people who prefer the NES controller to the SNES controller.
Nipah Jan 30th 2011 8:39PM
Holy crap, I had one of those Soldier Pads... I think I got it super cheap in the used bin at EBGames, because I'm quite sure I never paid full price for anything when growing up (I have so many sketchy, rip off 16-bit fighting games its not even funny...).
That being said, the best fighting controller in my opinion is the 6-button Saturn controller.

Followed closely by the rather good XBox 360 Street Fighter 4 controller.

As for MvC3, I'm still holding out for Strider & Charlie... I'd rather not have to go with Ken for my 3rd as I did in the last few games...

With dual wielder weapon enchants, will having proc enchants like hurricane work with both weapons? Or should I have an ability increasing enchant on the offhand weapon?
Brondorf Jan 30th 2011 3:16PM
Both weapon enchants can proc and the same time or at different times. I have duel daggers as all assination rogues do and when hurricane procs on both my haste goes thru the roof.
Deius Jan 30th 2011 7:57PM
As and rogue you can actually have 3 hurricane procs going at the same time. One for each weapon and then one for spells (poisons).
Cyno01 Jan 30th 2011 3:11PM
"PS: I got my Baron's Deathcharger on my first Stratholme run."
And that sound you hear, that far off wail in the distance, is thousands of nerds screaming "FFFFFUUUUU".
cloudhopper013 Jan 30th 2011 4:47PM
Similarly, I got my Fiery Warhorse on only my fourth Kara run. >:]
Diatenium Jan 30th 2011 4:53PM
Got my Zulian tiger on my first and only run Zul Gurub.
Oh yes.
