In my opinion; choosing a profession, you shouldn't be focused on how much damage your gonna do, or whether it's gonna help you do better tanking/healing. Mainly because the difference is very negligible. What happens if i pick (say) mining/blacksmith, but hate it? Yet I do it because "that's the best thing to go for tanking", for one arbitrary thing that no other profession gets? That sucks big time for me. I couldn't handle that kind of game play.WoW is a game yes? Hard to tell sometimes. Not trying to bring down this article at all, throughout the waffling there was good info on professions. I jsut feel that telling people that THIS is better than THAT, is rather lame for a game where professions are quite well balanced all round.Gawd, I just ask for blacked out comments when I post on this site. Ah well, at least I know some of you read what I had to say :P

I agree with you to an extent. The preface of this article was to help the person with the question "Which profession should I get?" Maybe that was just my take. What I don't like is people talking about it in the context you are saying as X profession is superior to Y and anyone else who uses a different profession is ______. When I was initially picking professions it had nothing to do with min/maxing or optimal performance. Some toons just got the luck of the draw (pally JC/tailor- which is now JC/Eng). And like a couple people have put it - should be fun for you no matter which ones you have.
