I can't imagine the cloak off of Asaad is a good choice for a healer. Maybe if they had something terrible beforehand, sure. But a cloak with hit on it....?

Well, it's an upgrade to any 333, really. I would love that crit personally, the only downside is that it has no spirit and has hit. Although they cancel each other out, to a degree, due to reforging. It works out pretty well, actually.

Obviously not perfect, but seeing as (AFAIK) most resto shammys are aiming for crit/spirit, you can reforge the hit to spirit.
Combined with the fact that the cloak obviously has more of it's budget dedicated to crit than hit and you won't wind up with a huge amount of hit, whilst also having a large amount of crit and the reforged spirit.
Obviously I'm not suggesting it is likely to be an upgrade to something with spirit/haste/crit/mastery as the secondary stats (without a decent ilvl gap), but I doubt it's as bad point-for-point as you've assumed :)

But then do NOT complain when casters roll on spirit gear... That cloak certainly is *not* 'solid healer gear' in any conceivable sense of the word 'solid'.
