J!NX and Blizzard announce World of Warcraft T-Shirt Design Contest

J!NX has been heralding in some pretty interesting design choices over the course of the last year, and they're showing a remarkable amount of foresight into lots of different categories of clothing that gamers and geeks in general would want. When I visited them at BlizzCon 2010, they had an impressive showing of quality stuff ranging from the normal T-shirts to the offbeat murloc hoodie. If this contest is any indication, they are going to be looking for all types of designs, from the subtle to the crazy.
Check out the official contest post, where you can find links to the design kit as well as the contest submission forms.

J!NX was starting to spam the hell out of me. I don't mind the occasional email, but it got to the point where it seemed like every other day,
"Save 15% today at J!NX!"
"Save on shipping, today at J!NX!"
"Sale on shirts today at J!NX!"
Today only, save 10% at J!NX!"
"EVERYTHING ON SALE TODAY AT J!NX!"
Thankfully, it seems to have leveled off.

Actually, oops, it wasn't J!NX that spammed me, it was SwagDog, got them two confused. It's been awhile since I was getting messages from them heavily.

They've got a space in front of the "http" and missing a colon after it. Should be http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/2209010

I don't have the best art skills, but I've got an idea from last years competition I was too late in entering with.
Annoying how the contest page gives no Deadline or Rules or Prize information?

Scratch that last comment, Jinx has all the info needed:
http://www.jinx.com/contest/warcraft
As far as I can tell, you don't have to just be a resident of the US to enter, which is good for me in the UK.
And even 3rd prize is damn good! Gonna get to work on this!

Anyone else having issues with Jinx using the user community for their future profits? If they could guarantee they would not use the designs later then I can see this working. But as of now, this is basically outsourcing.
I guess the issue is that they are offering maybe $1000 so they can have 10x or 100x that in profit. And that just seems wrong to me.
If i was like Jinx, i'd create some contest to write the best medical applet (my profession), then turn around and sell it for 50k each.

Clearly the 'Fun Of Entering' has been lost on you.
Who cares if Jinx go forth and sell your winning t-shirt design and make 10 times what you got paid for it ($500 and $250 worth of Jinx stock remember, plus all the extra goodies), you're still getting more than substantial prize for it and there's the fact that you can boast that it's your design. If you see someone wearing it, you can tell them how you designed it.
Besides competitions like this are meant to be fun, and give you something to do.
I guess there are those of us who are out for the Achievement of doing something, and those of us who are only interested in the Loot.
