The Daily Quest: Hey, that's pretty cool

Being a flaming draenei on the back of a Sandbox Tiger mount has to be one of my favorite I am bored and waiting for the raid to start activities. I keep trying to find other things to ride the little bouncy tiger toy. Ogres work; so do skettis. I haven't tried doing it as a plant yet, but give me time. Speaking of fancy tricks and interesting questions -- we've got a bit of both today:
- Tales of a Priest fills us in on the art of cooldown coordination.
- Jinxed Thoughts believes healers and tanks ought to have practice dummies too.
- Falling Leaves and Wings wonders if progress rankings have lost some of their credibility.

Every time I see the Draenei on the left, I think it looks indecent.
And I am not complaining, at all.

Argh, I wish I was lucky enough to get that damn Figurine.
And doesn't the ogre suit only have one use?

Ogre suit trinket is permanent, if you got it when they were available (Upper Deck website.)

I still really want to get the Orb of Deception to turn my Tauren Druid into a Gnome Druid. :D
Latest post at Corath's Blog (http://corath.wordpress.com) is called "Cataclysmic Beginnings, Part 1", which goes through the Goblin and Worgen starting zones and gives my opinion about them. I'll be going through all of the starting zones to see what the changes have been.

Enjoy!

When did they install rodeo bulls in the Exodar?!

I can't disagree with the thought on tank/healer practice dummies. Fights which require precision positioning can be brutal just because you don't really get to practice them in another context.

I jumped on my sandbox tiger just a couple days ago when all the raid wiped except me (not like I ran away screaming or anything)
Haven't tried it the dancing flames yet though, gotta try that the next time i run aw... I mean survive like a hero!

I hopped onto a camel the other day in Halls of Origination, when my roommate started laughing. I only then noticed I was still in ghost wolf from on top of the came, it was pretty funny and cool looking.

I emphatically agree with the article on healers and tanks needing practice dummies. However, as the article points out, the real tool needed is an arena style training ground.
Take this idea one step further, and take a page from StarCraft2's training scenarios. Have several different scenarios, each focusing on a specific role concept. Tie it together with a scenario that requires the use of all concepts taught at that tier, and awards an acheivement; Apprentice Tank, Journeyman Healer, etc. Because these would be solo quests, the only way to earn the acheivements would be to have appropriate gear and demonstrate the required skills. No riding on an overgeared party to get a dungeon acheivement to 'prove' you're qualified.
Next, Blizzard could use these achvmts as a qualifier for role selection in the LFG tool. Want to do random Cata Heroics as tank? Complete the Illustrious Tank acheivement scenarios.
Poof, no more douchebag DPSers queueing as Tank to game the LFG queue or clueless tanks/ healers. And maybe DPS could get a parallel set of achvmts showing they can CC effectively..
