All These Things That I've Done is a music video by Bonkey set to the song of the same name by The Killers. The music video tells the story of an assassin who regrets the deeds of his past. The video is a beautiful example of how music can combine with great imagery to tell a story.
According to Bonkey, this was one of his first attempts at machinima. He says it was a learning experience for him, which makes sense when you look at the scope of the video. There's so much happening in its 5 minutes of play time that it must have taken quite a bit of work. Interested in the wide world of machinima? I loved the song but the beginning seemed... slow. Watching a night elf walk around SW while singing along to a song wasn't very entertaining. After that I liked it, but just took a while to get into it. (Or at least it seemed that way to me.)
I liked it. Was pretty cool. The choir was a great touch and my favorite part of the song. Made me chuckle. Well done. The parts where it looked like he was singing matched up pretty good too. Must me excruciating trying to match it up like that. Thanks Bonkey.
I was actually getting ready to stop the movie and move on right before this particular scene. The combination of gnomes and tauren made me chuckle a bit.
I really enjoyed it. Wasn't sure at the start, but as the story picked up it had me emotionally involved by the end, and the last shot of the "thanks" was a nice little twist... Very good for an early vid, I think!
Awesome video. All These Things I've Done is my favorite song from The Killers, which is my favorite band. There's something about that song that makes me feel better, even when I'm in a bad mood. And the video was done very well, I loved how the night elf's lips matched up with the song, and the choir was a nice touch (I was wondering how he would tackle the "I've got soul but I'm not a soldier" part).
I really like the story here. If I'm getting it right it's a great echo for the sense of perseverance through regret you get from the song.
I always wince a little when "flying" is used as a tool in these sort of things but I certainly see how the character is trying to "swoop" in to correct a series of bad choices. Man, haven't I wished I could do that IRL and in game, more than once. :)
Very well done for a first timer! The artist is already using camera angles and moves in some very creative ways. Keep it up. I hope to see more.
On a side note - I love that it used not belf models but I'm saddened to be reminded just how bat-crap-crazy-ugly male nelf models are. /sigh. That and troll feet should be the first model update we get, if we ever get 'em. :)
A beautiful story! The start is slow, but by the end I'm emotionally invested in the character. Not a lot of mach. movies take time to develop this, due to a hyper-active audience. Very stylish animations and wonderful timings with the emotional parts of the song!

You know I've always thought Brandon Flowers was in Azeroth somewhere, probably Thousand Needles.
Well... ever since he wore those Preened Ironfeather Shoulders in the "Human video" :p
