Breakfast Topic: What's been your best moment of cool?

It's like every action movie ever has a moment like this: The main character realizes that he's in a desperate situation, and instead of running, he decides to fight back in the most badass way possible. Sunglasses may or may not be involved. There are generally explosions, some crazy flips in the air with a car or two, and a stunt that makes the liability lawyers wince at the thought of anyone reenacting it.
What's your best "moment of cool"? My favorite one of memory was the time that I was flagged coming out of a BG in Un'Goro, and a paladin three levels above me decided to take advantage of that. After a few kills, I kited him over to one of the elite Devilsaurs, aggroed it, waited until he threw his shield and it hit me and the dragon, and Feigned Death. Then with the Devilsaur eating chunks of his health bar, I proceeded to finish the paladin off.
What about you? Everyone has to have one.

Gotta be my first flag return in WSG. I'd only been playing a couple months, just started trying PvP, maybe in the level 20 range. I was the only one chasing the capper, was throwing everything I could as I ran (hunter) but he/she was moving faster (speed enchant maybe, dunno) and about to out range me with still about 50% health. As a last ditch effort I used the disintegrator ray from engineering which slowly charged up and unleashed this huge lasery beam of death, hitting for some (at the time for me) huge amount of damage. BAM, killing blow. I felt like a god.

I have this thing about honorable combat. I enjoy fighting the Alliance, but I will not attack an Ally when they're fighting mobs, or when they're already engaged in a 1 on 1 fight with a Horde, even if the Horde is losing. I wait for them to finish, let the Ally heal up if he was the victor, and then avenge my fallen comrade. And I never kill lowbies.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the game, there are very few situations when I can engage in what I would call "Honorable" combat with the Alliance. Usually if a Horde is nearby and I start fighting, they'll join in. And if an ally comes upon one of my 1v1 fights, they tend to jump right in, too. And then of course there's the war bands of Alliance that group up and kill lone Horde without provocation, the cowardly bastards.
But just the other day, I was on my warlock in Tol Barad Penninsula, fighting several mobs, and a Shadow Priest started attacking me while i was still in combat. I popped Demon soul so my Voidwalker would take all my aggro, and managed to get the priest down to ~40% health before he killed me.
When I resurrected, I hunted for him, and managed to find him and Curse of Exhaustion him while he was on his mount, slowing him enough to keep him from getting away, and fought it out with him. When I won, i considered the matter finished; you know, an eye for an eye.
But then, later that same day, I was doing Archaeology in Searing Gorge when i ran across a level 50 Human Paladin. Jokingly, I put my pet on passive and melee'd the paladin with my dagger (which took about a fifth of his health away) and then stopped attacking. The paladin went along with it, and I jumped around and didn't do any more damage to him.
But then, that same shadow priest from Tol Barad dropped down and attacked me. With the lowbie still attacking me, I fought back against the shadow priest and killed him. But I didn't realized that the graveyard was so close to where we were, and didn't think to heal up before the priest rez'd again, since the paladin was keeping me in combat, insignificant though his damage was. So the priest rez'd, with me at half health, and just BARELY managed to kill me. And then my dots finished him off, a quarter second before his Flash Heal cast would have finished.
This time we both rez'd at the same time, and I killed him AGAIN. When he rez'd again, I didn't attack him. I /bow'd at him, but he didn't see the emote in time, and had already started attacking me. It took him another corpse run to get the message. When he rez'd again, I didn't attack him, and let him eat/drink back to full. I wished him /luck and said /farewell.
And all the while, his little paladin (who was his guildmate, I saw now), was still alive. I never touched him.
It was the perfect example for the dishonorable shadowpriest to follow:
"This is what Honorable Combat is like, prick! Eat it!"

Yesterday in the 75-79 Bracket. A lvl 79 feral druid geared in cata greens with 3 times the health of my lvl 77 hunter had the tendency to oneshot everyone of our team. When he just finished 2 of our team and had around 60% health left, instead of running away I quickly DoTed it to prevent prowl and managed to kite him around and kill him without taking much damage.
Granted, we lost that WsG battle, but I was pretty proud of it nonetheless. :)

Was my first time running Deadmines Heroic with was supposed to be an experienced group - guildies, at the time.
Jump fight into Rahkzor without really explaining me the fight but I said to me: out of the fire and I should be ok.
At his hability both DPS died leaving tank, healer and my poor 8k dps to cope on. So I did my best not to panic, was literally always hugging the healer and dps the boss the best I could - used CDs on aggro any add by mistake and lasted a bit but was able to finish it.
Felt very good to not die and do m job right.

Back when Kara was hard my raid group and I were on the Satyr in the basement(I forget his name). Well we had him at around 3% when the something went wrong and pretty much everyone died, except me(enhance shaman) and a priest healer. I popped my earth ele, the priest started spam healing the ele and then I dps'd like no other and we finished off the boss. Was a really fun/intense moment.

My favorite moment has to have been when my little mage had just hit 9 a few weeks ago. There was an 85 BE Pally fighting his way through stormwind, and he was letting his health get down really low while fighting a couple of the guards. He killed one, then started casting holy light, and I popped my shiny new spell: Counterspell! One absurdly luckily successful interrupt later, and the guard downs him in another 2 swings. Picking up 'Make Love, not Warcraft' made it all the more fun.
The Angry Intern Feb 3rd 2011 3:34PM
That's too funny. That Pally was probably cursing your name to his guildmates after that!

One of my fondest memories would have to be coming out of Wintergrasp and heading into Sholazar Basin to do some mining. I found a nice vein of ore in the waterfall at River's Heart. I was mining it when a human paladin attacked me. The human was a level 80 pally; her mistake was she attacked not just a paladin, but a paladin ENGINEER!! I was irritated and surprised at her assault--I was just trying to get a little ore, after all. After blasting her with my Avenger's shield (glyphed so it did +100% more damage to her as the sole target), a blast from my wrist rockets, and a charge from my belt-mounted lightning generator (with a couple of sword smacks thrown in for good measure), she fell. I finished my mining and went on my way. What a memorable day that was. . . .

Playing on a pve(rp) server, I was leveling my lock in eastern plaguelands and decided to capture the towers for some honor. This all went well and I returned to lights hope chapel to find a group of alliance there as well. I tried to run into the chapel before they would see me (still had about 2 minutes of being pvp flagged), but that did not work and they were starting to surround me. I summoned my voidwalker, immediately sacrificed it and started to hearth out but they attacked and managed to quickly break through the bubble (pally material I was clearly not). Just as I thought I was done for the argent dawn guards went berserk on them and wiped them all out while I was standing there dumbstruck - at least until the couple of dots they left on me managed to take me out as well

I will never forget a moment in the beginning of Wrath expansion, when I was leveling my rogue in Zul'Drak (in PvP realm).
While questing I've met a hunter and of course we locked ourselves in deadly battle, which lasted unusually long with me restealthing several times, hunter repositioning himself with flying mount and so on - very epic fight.
In the end there was a moment where we both were left at some 2-5% health and suddenly just stopped jumping, kiting and fighting to stare at each other for good 3 seconds (even hunters pet was out of combat for some reason). We were like 15 yards away I think, all of our cooldowns blown and both left on a single hit to death.
It was like in the movies - several seconds of staring at each other and then hunter raises his bow, the pet starts running towards me, and I hit deadly throw keybind (on ~3 cp).
Hunter never made the shot, my throwing knife reached him first and killed with only a few points overkill.
____
that was certainly the most epic moment in my years of WoW.

Since Cataclysm, it was shooting dragons with a rocket launcher in Twilight Highland, then immediately dinging 85 by returning the quest.
lolf1sh Feb 3rd 2011 8:46AM
I dinged 85 on the same quest!

My best had to be when I was pugging a Sarth 25m 3D zerg on my hunter. We had wiped about 5-6 times, and the raid was about to collapse, but somehow the leader managed to convince everyone to stay for one last attempt.
Everything was going well till about the 1 mil mark and all hell broke loose. I don't know what happened in the end, but it came down to Sarth and his friends versus just my little ol' hunter. I managed to Hunter tank one hell of a pissed off dragon, first with my pet, then running and finally popping double deterrence, allowing the remaining dots to take out the last 100k or so of Sarth's life.
I ended up dead on the floor with the rest of the raid, and I don't think anyone else noticed what happened, but I feel like I really earned that title.

Single handedly taking down three vehicles in SotA, thus defending the titan artifact. I was a proud Tauren that day.

Back when Naxx (wotlk) was progression content,
The Heigan dance was still fairly new at this point. I got pugged into a raid as a healer, and we were doing pretty well with the dance until about 15% until everyone died, except for me and the main tank. This was a 25 man raid.
The raid leader called a wipe. The tank didn't stop, however, and neither did I. We proceeded to two man Heigan, with the entire raid cheering us on in vent. We killed him. It was glorious.
olzer Feb 3rd 2011 11:57AM
No wai.
We pugged a healer for Naxx25 back in the days of early Wrath, and we all wiped except a healer+tank that killed him from about 15% hp too, with me yelling "GO ON, GO ON, FINISH IT, GOOOO ONN!!" for the last 5% :P
Baba Feb 3rd 2011 1:57PM
I can relate to that, when taking our new raid team through naxx (when current) we had to finish off 40% of his health with only a tank, healer and dps :D
Most awesome 15 minute fight ever

Looking through some of the later comments it seems this was a fairly common event i.e., could foreseeably happen several times to different groups. At the time though, as these same could testify I'm sure, I didn't know that, which made it a cornerstone victory for me (it was my first actual raid as a healer, ever).
Heigan is one of those rare bosses that can be killed, with precision timing and endurance, by a fairly small number of people if the situation requires it. I hope I can find more unique experiences like that one but it stands out pretty large in my relatively short WoW career.
I wish I'd frapsed it!
Undra Feb 3rd 2011 2:35PM
The same thing happened to me on a PuG run. Most of the group is dead it's just me (tanking as bear), a rogue and I can't remember the third. But almost a half hour later, Heigan was dead, and a lot of people were feeling very foolish about their dancing abilities.
Needless to say, the raid fell apart shortly after but that made my month.

Before they fixed the gongs on atramedes a week or 2 ago, we had this attempt on 10 man where only 4 alive, tank, 2 dps and me healing. We got some 30-40% off him because the gongs just kept respawning. Then I happened to make some sort of mistake (no wonders when the fight had gone for some 10-15 mins). The feral tank refused to believe this and fortunately few seconds later the boss took air and he combat rezzed me.
Unfortunately modulation had just taken out the dps and I got instagibbed by the fire breath when I rezzed... We actually thought we could down the boss with just the 4 of us :D
