On my server the "second best" enchants go even beyond that.
They can be all the way back to northend ones! Now, I'm not sure are they "twinks" or what but I've made quite a lot of money by berserker, agility weapon (northend not vanilla) and mighty spellpower (usually when I do /who they are 85.. but who knows)
Funny thing is that for example I'm selling berserk at like 400g while avalanche or hurricane go for 420-500g.

Once you get into enchant business its really nice. Most of wrath I never bothered with them because I didnt know any addons that would tell me for example that "mats are this and it goes for this" or simply didnt bother with it because I thought it was risky like overflooded glyph market. Now after cataclysm I've literally doubled my gold I've made from BC to Wrath. Now my total gold is about 100k, now thats not a lot for most of the readers here (or so they claim..) but making 30k (100k gained 70k spent) in 30 days is pretty nice for such lazy bastard like me. The market is not that risky either, you dont have to worry getting undercut every 10 minutes by someone from 100g to 10g.
Now I just need to cut my spendings even more, last month I spend over 10k to level tailoring** and now celestial essence is waaay too expensive.


**which was literally worst idea I've had due to the fact that people are dumb even selling cloth trader recipes below mats cost, rest are mostly leveling items so they go for above DE mats but below mat cost and the fact that it takes 20 chaos orbs to craft epic that goes in AH for 4k (3k mats with 7 day cd cloth). Oh did I mention BS crafts items with 3 orbs and sells them for 10k with 7k profit? Oh wizards and your wizard professions..why do you mess with economy.


Btw I would suggest Analyst addon to most people. Its pretty informative how you have spend the money on THAT month (counter starts form day 1) or 30 days timeframe.

Tailoring was awesome early in Cata. I had mine maxed and was selling Dreamless Belts and both DPS pants for nearly 10k each week across my two tailors. Now, not so much lol. Don't know why (maybe more have orbs so they can do the no-cooldown Dreamcloth?) but the prices plummeted below mat cost now like you said. I'm still able to sell spellthread for ~800-1k though, which is a decent profit.

I'll have to check on the Northrend enchants on my server. I've only been occasionally selling Hurricane as my 'chanter is only 82 and I haven't gotten to Twilight Highlands for the better recipes yet. I figured there was no demand for those and hadn't bothered :P
