Recently The Forums have degraded into a caustic environment. The amount of complaining about everything, and the conflict between players is really out of control.I think this started with RealID. By backing Blizzard down on the RealID issue, the Forum community felt empowered. Now I think they believe they can change anything in the game by complaining long and loud.

"Recently The Forums have degraded into a caustic environment. The amount of complaining about everything, and the conflict between players is really out of control."So, business as usual then?"I think this started with RealID."No. No it didn't.People who have the intention to play WoW rather than argue are playing the game and not posting on the forums. Thus has it ever been, since (at least) my joining our little community at the beginning of TBC.

@jfofla: Except the trolls and people causing the most problems didn't have a problem with Real ID, knowing they could easily circumvent it and cause as much trouble as they liked, especially for people who would've played by the rules. Yes, there were some misguided idiots against Real ID as well, but that's going to be for every debate ever. Blaming the *long-standing* miserable state of the forums on something recent is backwards.
