With all that has gone on with warriors and reading how melee unfriendly the fights are it might be time to hang up my warrior. He has soldiered through Vanilla from Scolo to the Spider wing in Nax. In BC HE WAS PREPAIRED and sat on Illidan's corpse while the loot was handed out. Dammit I almost snuck out the pieces of Frostmourne but the dammed warlock tattled on me.
Through it all I've put up with the nerfs and the tears from other classes every time we even started to make parity. I am afraid that most raid leaders and guild masters see us a a liability through most of an expansion and that we are only good when gearing up for the last tier.
Got to do some hard thinking. I might swap the plate and the in your face attitude for my mage. I'm am tired of being the plate wearing salmon swimming upstream against the rapids of ignorance in this game.

Just make sure you're Fire specced, know how to sheep/resheep, and don't mind sharing all your gear with the other 6 cloth DPS specs, oh and forget soloing anything really cool, you won't be able to take the hit.
Oh, and did I mention you have to wear a dress? Yeah, you have fun with that, I'll be over here not getting 1 shot by bosses AND wearing pants.

Things will get better. Just go with what you find is fun. For me, I have a warrior and a mage. Why? Well, I love to blow stuff up (mage). On the other hand, blasting the crap out of people with 2 very large weapons in each hand is also very fun. Warriors aren't that far behind the general melee.
If you're an arms warrior and refuse to play fury, well, unfortunately, arms hasn't been up to par so far in this expansion. But looking at state of DPS, fury is right smack between assassination and combat rogues. Yeah, you have less utility, but you have a very solid interrupt type ability that actually helps your dps.
I think you wouldn't see a guild stacking warriors like they would stack rogues or mages or holy paladins, but bringing a warrior or 2 or 3 wouldn't hurt your raid's overall dps.

You could be lucky, like me. I'm the OT in a 10 man group, which means I get to switch to dps on the fights we only need one tank. Since we have no main spec plate dps either, I get it all.

I'm still not sure why Arms isn't getting the love? I'm running arms right now and the few times I've bumped into Fury warriors, I've either kept up or beat them with lower gear levels (why can I not find a pair of blue bracers?!?). Granted, I'm not doing the most DPS out there, but my gear level is still all blues with one or two exceptions. I will get beat on the dps meters at times, but it's usually a well geared DPS only class that knows their toon.

Oh, I know all about the problems of gear. Try getting those tokens. In the entire time my guild did ICC, I got two...yes two. One was about a week before the expansion hit and the RNG favored me. Before that I suffered at the hands of the hunter class who didn't have to spend DKP to outbid other classes and always had tons of the stuff to spend on tokens to upgrade what they had.
I've been arm, fury, prot, even funky nasty hybreds in BC at the direction of the GM who stated that I spec it or never raid again. It was his idiotic idea to have a prot/arms combo.
The big problem is that guild masters and raid leaders by and large are still stuck with the Burning Crusade attitude that melee dps is a liability. You bring them along when the bosses are on farm. In Wraith my guild did some bosses in Uldar and ICC when we were melee heavy and burned the bosses down quicker because we could hang in there and didn't die from a stiff breeze blowing the stink from the boss across us. Still the attitude in most guilds is that if you don't tank you sit. With the increased CC in 5 mans we are treated as liabilities again.
As far as wearng a dress. I had to wear the god awful parrot helm as a tank in BC. A freakin' stuffed parrot on my head, Oh and the best DPS helm outside of Sunwell which almost nobody got was the TIki Mask. Warrior gear appearance usually caused your targets to fall down laughing rather than be afraid.
