Breakfast Topic: Love: Is it actually in the air?

The Azerothian holiday Love is in the Air is based on the real world Valentine's Day holiday. There are some similarities, of course -- in Azeroth as in real life, the holiday involves romantic picnics, eating candies, and making very poor decisions while drunk. The activities are far more rewarding in Azeroth, though: Completing these, along with all the other holiday achievements throughout the year, earns you the 50-point What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been meta achievement, complete with a Violet Proto-Drake and free Master Riding. (For more information about completing the Love meta achievement, take a look at Allison Robert's The Overachiever: Guide to Love is in the Air 2011.)
How are you planning on spending the two-week-long holiday? Are you going to spend it working on your holiday meta achievement? Are you looking forward to farming Apothecary Hummel for his new ilevel 346 loot? Or maybe you'll just send your in-game sweetheart a Bouquet of Black Roses?
As for yours truly, I'll be spending the bulk of my time receiving gifts from my many suitors (hint, hint), flirting with blood elves, riding Big Love Rockets, and spending some quality time with my one true love -- myself.
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm has destroyed Azeroth as we know it; nothing is the same! In WoW Insider's Guide to Cataclysm, you can find out everything you need to know about WoW's third expansion, from leveling up a new goblin or worgen to breaking news and strategies on endgame play.Filed under: Breakfast Topics

Getting the meta on my DK so I can finally get the Drake is my #1 priority. Also looking forward to grabbing that pink love rocket :P *crosses fingers*

I did it all ages ago, but I'll be doing it all again this year for a video-in-progress lol

Makes me laugh. Blizzard MAKES spotty basement dwellers PRETEND to have girlfriends, when truth be told, odds are they could never get a girlfriend, never mind one who will let them touch their junk!
Oh the bitter-sweet irony!
RetPallyJil Feb 6th 2011 8:41AM
You sound fat and lonely.
phoenixxx73 Feb 6th 2011 8:59AM
Heh... far from it.. I just have an odd sense of humour.

Zul'jin was a better troll than you. Hell, Tony Two-Tusk was a better troll than you. Random Frostmane Novice was a better troll than you.

phoenixxx is right though. I could never get a girlfriend.
I'm pretty sure my wife wouldn't appreciate it.
phoenixxx73 Feb 6th 2011 9:35AM
You think I'm TROLLING?? ha! if I were trolling I would be doing a MUCH better job than this.
Maybe you (like I) are one of the lucky ones who have a special someone. but I reckon the vast majority of the player base DONT.. their social life consists of pixels. I was merely commenting on the irony that an event such as "Love is in the air" throws up. but hey... even basement dwellers can take comfort int he fact that an NPC somewhere loves them.

It's only February, and already we have found the Prick of the Year (tm).

For reference:
"3. The average game player is 34 years old and has been playing games for 12 years."
From http://www.theesa.com/facts/index.asp
I would hazard [or maybe reckon if I were more thoughtless] that most people around this average age have jobs, lives, friends and even, dare I say it, families of their own. So the basement-dwelling, zit-faced, outcast, teenage player as a generality is a myth perpetuated by people with outdated stereotypes who refuse to recognise changes in the world around them.
Also, I don't believe you have a 'special someone', enjoy your hand.

@Phoenixxx73
Well aren't you the epic example of reproductive magic. Yeah you found someone to touch your junk? /golfclap. So you are going to waste all your karma on picking on someone you deem to be less worthy than yourself? Good job. Just remember Karma is a 2 ton hammer wielding frigid bitch when she comes calling. Unfortunately he has lost sight of what a real winner does in life. When they get something good they share it. When they see someone down on their luck they pick them up. But no. Not this guy. He's too good for that.

My right hand is hardly a figment of my imagination.
Katherine Feb 6th 2011 1:39PM
You're right, I can't get a girlfriend. Because I'm a straight female.
Eric Escalante Feb 6th 2011 8:49AM
If love is in the air, then why am I getting crabs?
Noyou Feb 6th 2011 11:18AM
LOL. We got crabs too posting on this forum. Imagine that!

phoenixxx73 Feb 6th 2011 9:15AM
so you are one of the spotty basement dwellers judging by that reply..
David Brady Feb 6th 2011 9:21AM
Oh obviously. That's why I put my real name on the forum. Get a life sweet heart.
Mel Feb 6th 2011 9:33AM
Don't feed the wannabe-troll. It's fat and pimply enough already.
