The Queue: Alex won't shut up about his RIFT characters edition

Alex, shut up about your RIFT characters already. I have had it with you.
MusedMoose asked:
Has Blizzard given us any information about how the contents of the "Satchel of Helpful Goods" are determined? I ask because my shaman keeps getting Bandit gear -- boosts agility, stamina, and I think hit rating. My shaman is resto, so these items border on useless; I plan to dual-spec to elemental at 30 and said items will still be of little good. I find it odd that I'm being given items that only one of my class's three specs can use.
The Satchel of Helpful Goods will give you armor that your class can use, but it won't always be good for your spec. If you always got perfectly itemized gear, then what would be the point in doing more random dungeons?
Flint asked:
Arguably a bit of a daft question but the wording of the enhancement shaman talent Unleashed Rage is confusing me. The exact wording of the talent (via Wowpedia) is "Increases your expertise by X, and increases all party and raid members' attack power by Y% while within 100 yards of the shaman." Does that attack power increase apply to the shaman himself while outside a party or raid, or is a lonely shammy only getting the expertise?
You receive both the expertise bonus and the attack power bonus. Any given party/raid buff talent will buff you as well as your party/raid unless otherwise noted.
Amnesiatic asked:
What's up with that blue fire thingy on the bridge between Arathi Highlands and the Wetlands?
It's just a graphical effect for a quest there involving Thargas Anvilmar and the Dark Irons. It persists even if you're not on the quest, for some reason.
Xakari asked:
So are valor points really turning to justice points this patch (4.0.6)? I have heard that they were going to, but guildmates of mine have said that its silly because there is no new raid content/gear being added. Just wondering if I need to to spend my VP before the patch hits or can i keep saving?
Everything we've heard indicates that valor points will convert to justice points when the next content patch hits, and the same for every content patch after that. Valor points are supposed to be earned in and used during only the latest tier of raid content. 4.0.6 is not a content patch, so your valor points will not be converting into justice points in 4.0.6.
Garfielda asked:
I had heard at some point in the Cataclysm build-up that Blizzard was going to be moving all of the battlegroups into one PvP super-queue. As far as I can tell though, that has not yet been implemented. Is there anything I missed when searching for a blue post? When do we get our merged queues?
This already happened some time ago. PvP and dungeon queues are now region-wide.

Wait... so VP will turn to JP this tuesday? Or will it be the next CONTENT patch, like when we get a new raid?
Kutanu Feb 6th 2011 12:06PM
Points will convert at patch 4.1, not 4.0.6
Theresa Feb 6th 2011 12:06PM
When we get a new raid. This patch only has updates and class changes, no new content.
Amoracchia Feb 6th 2011 12:09PM
Not this Tuesday, it will happen in 4.1.
Content patches are always 4.x.
This patch is 4.0.6, which is a patch, not a content patch.
Gossamer Feb 6th 2011 12:15PM
I had the same question after reading the response given. It's slightly unclear.
Sadistic4 Feb 6th 2011 2:04PM
Ahhh ok. good! thanks yall
Xayíde Feb 6th 2011 2:19PM
@gossamer
Not slightly but very misleading I would say. The guy was asking about 4.0.6 and he replied talking about 4.1.
Michael Sacco Feb 6th 2011 2:23PM
Sorry, could've sworn the question said 4.1. Clarified in the post.
Surgeon Feb 6th 2011 4:44PM
Not sure what was confusing or misleading about the answer...especially since the answer Sacco gave is clear about VP not turning to JP until a content patch, which 4.0.6 is not.

AMG WE'RE NOT IN AZEROTH ANYMORE!!!
Azarizotza Feb 6th 2011 12:07PM
oh wait wasn't that 2 patches ago..you know with the space goats and elf bloods?
Ullaana Feb 6th 2011 12:09PM
@Azari,
Beat me by 3 minutes. Dang my slow reading and typing. :)
Superthrust Feb 6th 2011 1:14PM
I find it funny that the ads right under the main post has 3 ad's on my screen for "Sarah Palin: 'I won't shut up' " displayed...lol.
jbodar Feb 6th 2011 3:53PM
@Superthrust
Wait, you didn't know that Palin is an extra-dimensional being whose sole intent is creating a foothold for her dark masters' entry into our world, thus heralding its ultimate destruction?! Dude, read between the lines...

Actually for the satchel you will get armor that someone using that armor type can use. So cloth only gets spellpower, leather gets agi or spellpower, mail gets agi or spellpower, and plate gets strength or spellpower.
Jewelry and capes are a mix of all of it. It is perfectly possible for your leveling fury/prot warrior to get spellpower plate out of the bag though.
wow Feb 6th 2011 12:42PM
Exactly. My rogue gets all sorts of Sp items.
Terrible, terrible answer regarding point conversion. It's clear you didn't even read the question.

"The Satchel of Helpful Goods will give you armor that your class can use, but it won't always be good for your spec. If you always got perfectly itemized gear, then what would be the point in doing more random dungeons?"
If this was true then I'd never get SP rings and leather/mail/plate on my Rogue/Hunter/Warrior and Agility/Strength gear on my clothies. I think your hair products have impaired your research skills, Ms.Sacco.
Jeremy Feb 6th 2011 2:15PM
I agree the point conversion answer was bad, but the armor answer is just fine. If your class is a leather wearer, you get leather. You can use it (as in, it is possible to equip it) no matter what the stats are on it, even if you're a rogue and get Int gear. It's the armor your class can use. Exactly what he said.
Allan Feb 6th 2011 2:33PM
then why does my lock get plate gear?

Experience, loot from the actual bosses, and fun just to name a few. ;D
