There has been no other information given on tickets, specific announcements (like the next expansion), musical acts, etc. ... all that will be coming out in the next nine months. In fact, this announcement is by far the earliest the con has ever been announced.

According to that release chart that linked, the next WoW expansion is in Quarter 2 of 2012, meaning it will be shown/revealed at Blizzcon this year, no?
Adam Holisky Feb 7th 2011 9:48AM
Correct.

Really? To be honest, the hype train for Cataclysm was so huge and so long (that's what she said) that I'm still feeling burnt out from it. I don't want to start looking to the next expansion yet, even by October!
Culhag Feb 7th 2011 12:33PM
I don't want them wasting time on Outland. It's good enough for the time we spend there.
Amanda A. Feb 7th 2011 1:21PM
Quarter 2? Isn't that about 6 months early for Expansion 5?
Granted, early beats Wrath's near year of nothing new, so... *shrug*

Stella, all they have to do is chuck Chromie by the Dark Portal and the transports to Northrend and have her tell you that she's sending you back to the past to train. A massive overhaul such as the one done to Old Azeroth is not needed.

forget the next xpac. I'm just looking forward to more fat elves. hoorah!

I don't mind Jay Mohr, but they really need to get a gamer to host it! Surely we can find some wow-playing celeb somewhere?
Rubitard Feb 7th 2011 9:51AM
Oops! You beat me to the punch, laddie!
Todd Feb 7th 2011 9:51AM
I wouldn't mind seeing Chris @nerdist Hardwick host.
Lyinar Feb 7th 2011 10:26AM
Personally, I suggested they try to get Wil Wheaton to host... He's a geek icon, intelligent, funny, and strives to live by his own code of "Don't be a dick". So, basically the exact opposite of Jay Mohr.
Nemuraar Feb 8th 2011 6:09AM
Wil Wheaton is a liar! I don't want him at the Blizzcon. And if he says something about his grandma, don't believe him!
Omacron Feb 7th 2011 11:34AM
I say they should bring back Patton Oswalt. He's gut-bustingly funny and, I feel, carries far more "nerd cred" than Jay Mohr.
Matthew Feb 7th 2011 11:47AM
I nominate myself. No, I'm not technically a celebrity, but as the shirt says, "I'm big on the internet"
Besides, I can memorize things and not read from multi colored sheets of paper.
Gorth Feb 7th 2011 1:02PM
The problem with getting a WoW playing celebrity to host it? He's going to have to call out of raids, and his opening speech will be... less than optimal. "Alright, guys, I'm going to make this quick, because right now I'm in LFG for the headless horseman. Yay blizzcon! Damn, my queue popped. Later guys!"

This. So many times this. If you actually listen to the Jim Rome show when he guest hosts after BlizzCon he makes it clear be does not really like Wow players. He was making fun of the guy dressed as a Forsaken who for injured and takes a lot of email and text from jock fear neo clones who think we're a bunch of losers. This guy dosen't care.

>wow celeb
Got it, lemme just tell my people to call (cutaia)'s people. I'm sure we can work something out.
Hal Feb 7th 2011 9:45AM
I wonder if they'd ever consider a "BlizzCon East?"
Uriah Feb 7th 2011 9:57AM
All the employees are pretty much West Coast so it's doubtful :(
