I'm Disc Priest with ilvl 350 atm and I'm not using AA spec. At least on normal difficulty, I am a tank healer and I can do my job very well, not as well as Paladin, but tank is not dying with me. For example, 30 minutes ago with my guild I've killed Halfus with Slate Dragon active, so I was healing offtank who tanked Slate Dragon and Nether Scion at the same time with little help of Pain Suppression. Greater Heal spam, Pennance and Mending on CD. With our nice single target heal and pathetic AoE heal, i don't see another option for Disc Priests.

Oh, I forget to mention other bosses. My guild have now problems with holy paladins, so I'm tank heal all the time, and still I'm not using AA spec. Valiona is not a problem, tank doesn't take big damage on this fight. Golem Council, Maliorak, Atramendes, they are not problems for disc priests either, at least on 10 man.
