HuffPo's moderated, because the content they write about tends to bring out a lot of passions. I have done moderation for political sites, and i'll tell you it can be brutal. Post a story about the stock market going down a few points due to a poor earnings report, and you're deluged with comments about ethnic minorities, welfare collectors, ect. Post a story about the former President and you get the crazies who think he's a lizard person. It just happens. If they didn't moderate, their comments would be useless. I'm sure there's some level of moderation here too - if someone brings a topic out of left field.
Still, my biggest hope: An updated comments system!
