To be honest, I am vaguely interested in hearing about RIFT.. I have been playing WoW since vanilla launch and to be quite frank, it is starting to get painfully boring. Not a whole lot has changed REALLY.. it still mostly consists of "Go kill this" or "Go talk to so-and-so" quests. Sure they may have changed since Cata hit, but it still boils down to the same game.
Now a diversion that is very familiar in the way it plays, but different in a lot of other aspects sounds like something that could be interesting to do when I have one of my "Bored of WoW" spells (which sadly are becoming more and more frequent) and it seems this game is shaping up to be a pretty viable alternative to World of Warcraft. Will it kill WoW. No. Wow is WAY ahead in so many development aspects that I am sure that at best even IF RIFT becomes legitimate competition and looks to be capable of actually killing WoW, that can only be a good thing as it will knock Blizzard out of their complacency and the competition will jolt them in to producing an even better game maybe even changing WoW's ageing Engine.
Way I see it. RIFT isnt a bad thing by any means.
