Sorrowsong is a dps trinket, and there's much better ones for healers. Seems the shaman was just being greedy and trying to make it look like you were.

Anyway, there's a cool thing about the trinket: it procs off of critter kills. So right before a pull if you want a spellpower boost kill any little critter that happens to be in the area, like the little spiders in Stonecore or the rats in SFK to give some examples. Have fun!
