New patch 4.0.6 hotfixes released

Yet another round of hotfixes for Patch 4.0.6 has been released, according to blue poster Zarhym. As with prior hotfixes, some may go live immediately, while others may require server restarts. Regardless, there are plenty of interesting fixes this time around, from class tweaks to adjustments to dungeons and raids. A few highlights:
- Haste is again properly increasing resource regeneration rates for applicable melee classes. However, this fix will require a realm restart to take effect.
- For priests, Inner Focus now appropriately increases the critical heal chance of Flash Heal, Binding Heal, Greater Heal, and Prayer of Healing.
- For those who are wondering where those bouquets of roses went, fear not -- Bouquet of Ebon Roses and Bouquet of Red Roses for the Love Is in the Air event now properly drop from Cataclysm dungeons.
Read on for the full list of hotfixes.
- Classes
- Haste is again properly increasing resource regeneration rates for applicable melee classes. This fix will require a realm restart to take effect. More information regarding the series of changes pertaining to this issue can be found on our General Discussion forum.

Er, hotfix for removing earned titles?

Instead of removing the title I believe they should have added a new one... Exalted Vizier, Grand Poobah etc.
Tggin Feb 10th 2011 12:34AM
Totally agreed, Shad. Arbitrarily removing the carrots of an achievement system defeats the purpose of having an achievement system with carrots.

Yeah this is a little annoying. It's not a huge deal but previously when requirements have been changes (as for Explorer and Loremaster) players who already had the titles were allowed to keep them. Weird for them to break from this for the Exalted.
Skarn Feb 10th 2011 1:21AM
They already said why they don't want to add half a dozen versions of Exalted with different adjectives. I agree.
On the other hand, I don't think they should have taken it away from anyone. Anyone who got 40 reps in Wrath put in a lot of effort, exactly what they want it to represent. Even if they didn't get up to 50, it would still show that they had put in a lot of effort to earn the title. It would represent exactly what Blizzard wants.
I don't think we need a new version of Exalted. I am fine with raising the rep requirement for new people trying to get the title. (Noting that I will never get it, by the way.) I am NOT fine with taking it away from people who already earned it.
dcisko Feb 10th 2011 8:19AM
I think they should keep the requirement the same (40 reps) but retire enough older reps so that new 85s can't go back and grind overgeared content to earn the achievement. BC reps, I'm looking at you.
Chinmay Feb 10th 2011 10:22PM
How about letting people keep their 40-rep Exalted until first person on realm reaches 50-rep exalted and then reset the 40-rep exalted for remaining people. Or maybe until certain X% of server population reaches 50-rep exalted then the previous version gets removed.

How long was the Haste bug going on for? Was it just since 4.0.6 hit, or all of Cata? Hoping for all of Cata so haste becomes better for melee
atomicstrawberry Feb 10th 2011 12:52AM
It was only 4.0.6. The client was applying more haste than the server was, incorrectly making it look like you had more energy / runes / etc than you actually had, according to the server. The difference was minor, but it was enough that you'd hit a button when it looked like said ability was useable, only for the server to reject it, because at the instant you issued the command, the server correctly had you marked with less resources. It kind of made things feel oddly 'sticky' for lack of a better way to describe it. I'm not sure how they're fixing it via a hotfix though, unless it was the server that was incorrectly applying haste, and not the client.
I'm more happy that the fishing at cooking quests are fixed, missed out on maxing out my cooking last night because of that. On the upside, the fishing bags have useful loot now - I got the Find Fish tome from my goodie bag last night.

I wonder how long till they fix aimed shot. I can't believe they let the broken damage modifiers stay
Straz Feb 10th 2011 9:08AM
I'm baffled as to how they could put Marksmanship (and a few other dps specs) in such a powerful spot, yet Survival was "too powerful" before the patch even though it didn't perform nearly as well as the newly buffed specs.
Kats Feb 10th 2011 1:11AM
Ummm...Which Cataclysm bosses/dungeons drop red roses and ebon roses?
Tirrimas Feb 10th 2011 3:32AM
The last boss of Stonecore drops the red ones.
Garviel Feb 10th 2011 6:52AM
I got the black ones from H-DM, either from Cookie or Ripsnarl ( I can't recall which )
watspr02 Feb 10th 2011 7:44AM
One of them dropped from the 2nd boss in BRC
g2g591 Feb 10th 2011 8:35AM
Do I just have a terribad memory, or do I recall being able to buy a boquet of roses inside ICC on saurfang's platform (after you down him over by the repair guys who show up there) last year?
Hyacintha Feb 11th 2011 9:14AM
I saw the red ones drop from Drahga in Grim Batol on normal.
Jaq Feb 10th 2011 1:18AM
After I did some reforging yesterday on my DK, I was actually pulling MORE DPS than I was before the patch...so even more nerfs don't shock me in the least. If what I am hearing is true and these nerfs have something to do with the new Death's Advance talent, well, nice job balancing PVE around PVP again, Blizzard.
Mr. Tastix Feb 10th 2011 2:59AM
The Death Coil nerf is a rather harsh way of nerfing death knights in PvP without nerfing Death's Advance directly; Of course, it also affects PvE death knights, as usual.
Death's Advance will be nerfed at some point, simply because it really is pretty damn OP. Is it fun? Hell yes, but it's basically like being in Ghost Wolf all the time on my shaman with no downside (if I'm training them then I'm barely going to have Unholy runes up).
Jaq Feb 10th 2011 9:27AM
As soon as they announced that talent (which I don't even use as I suck at PVP) I thought "Oh crap." That's just too blasted OP. So in Cata Death Knights were given Necrotic Strike, which only has an incredibly SMALL situational use in PVE, Dark Simulacrum, which is all PVP, Death's Advance, which again is all PVP-and saw the things that helped our PVE DPS get nerfed to the ground for all of that. Thanks Blizzard. Really.
