If I had had the Exalted title, and had it taken away from me by Blizzard's crass, stupid, idiotic and frankly contemptous decision to remove it, it would have caused me to at once cancel my subscription. I have had it up to here with their at times vindictive treatment of the folks that play the game that makes them so much bloody money that they feel that as a company they can get away with doing whatever the hell they like to the people that give them it.
There is no justification for this decision. None. You are welcome to try, fellow forumites, but I will just stick my fingers in my ears, and shout nanananana, I'm not listening.
Cause I am not, ye know.

You think they would've learned after the removal of the Black and Plagued Proto Drakes from Naxx, that players tolerance for taking away things like this is minimal. I was three achievements short of the Plagued and found out when my guildies and I checked our meta to see what we needed to get for that week. We were horrified to find no reward for the meta. We had been working so hard to get it.
I can imagine how horrible it be to wake up and notice your missing title only to find out Blizzard had yanked it and simply said "Sorry too easy to get, try again and harder this time!" I imagine the Exalted titled people out there felt like I did with the drakes. Cheated.
On the plus side, at least the title wasn't completely removed from the game, but to take it away from people, low. Very low. *shakes fist at Blizzard*

I voted this up because I BELIEVE it is written "tongue-in-cheek". Quit your QQ'ing, if you don't like the game stop playing. (And if you've already earned the Exalted title once, and you DON'T like the game, go see a shrink ...).
Now get out there and get those other 10 reps so you can go back to lording it over us plebes and lowbies.

The thing that I don't get is 6 of those reps are fairly easy to get so I don't buy that "raising the bar line of crap". I am already honored with Gilneas on a couple of my toons for doing quests that give basline alliance rep. It's just spitting in the face of the valued customers who spend cash on subscriptions year after year. Hell I am of the thinking that if you have 5-6 years continuous service you should get something for that. And not "oh you got cata" BS either. Something above what joe blow just joined up on a free trial gets. Something like a free race/customization or BoA mount. Something substantial. I'm definitely not holding my breath. Even though I only have a fraction of exalted reps I am sickened by this latest blunder. For the last 2-3 renewals I have been asking myself do I really want to keep giving them money? Things like this make it easier and easier to say hell no.

I agree that removing the title from people who had already earned it was a boneheaded mistake.
With that being said, regardless of what anyone might tell you it does not help you make your case to a company to threaten them with things like subscription cancellations. People don't like to be threatened and considering how insignificant your subscription actually is to them and the fact that an incredibly small percentage of people who threaten such actions actually follow through and you just end up making them indignant and causing them to disregard whatever else you say.

As someone who is for the great and most part, a solo player getting my "The Exalted" title was work. HARD work, that took the majority of the WOTLK expansion to acquire, and long grinds (Without the help of doing dungeons to speed things along easy mode.)
To take this from me, well... I guess I could say "slap in the face" you know... the usual stuff.
Its just... well, its rude, Blizzard. Its Cruel, Unkind, Unjust. This title was something I worked at, that I was proud to display, that I earned through hard labor... was whisked away with a few keystrokes of code, and a major" LUL U MAD, BRO?" * trollface*.
I worked for that. Eff you. I earned that, and you killed it without even two seconds of thought.
For one single moment please, contemplate the time that you have easily and carelessly whisked away... for it has been taken from me in a blink of an eye. It should be mourned. I'm NOT an immortal being with endless surplus.

WotLK Exalted: 40 reps
New reps in Cata
Gilneas/Bilgewater
Ramkahen
Guardians of Hyjal
Earthen Ring
Therazane
Wildhammer/Dragonmaw
Baradin's/Hellscream's
40+7 = ...50?
That's the part that bothers me. If you don't enjoy PvP, you can forget about this achievement being realistic. Non-PvPers may as well go for the Insane, since you will have to have a few of those at Exalted anyway just to get this new title that you already had.
I already canceled my subscription. I can forgive gear resets. I can forgive complete removal of titles/items/mounts, etc. But to take something from me I already earned and say "Oh, you can have it back...if you work a little harder. Come on now, just a little bit more, just a few more months" is simply unforgivable.
I'm not a donkey, Blizzard. You can't keep me going for the carrot by making the stick longer. Enjoy WoW's inevitable decline and fall. I will be spending my time and money elsewhere, thank you.

it's not quite 40+7. several of the old world rep grinds, see Thorium Brotherhood, and Argent Dawn, are much much easier to grind through quests. I think my level 48 is now revered with the Argent Dawn, and didn't do all the quests in EPL.
If there's another low level one that's easy, I haven't figured it out yet, however, 40+9 is a lot closer to 50, and by now, most people with 40 prob had either 41+, or are/were close to 41+.
I have 51 exalted reps, but I still think it was a stupid mode. If anything, anyone who got the achi pre-cata deserves the damn title, and really, I don't think too many people got 40 between cata release and 4.06.

I was actually hoping they would do this with all the cata stuff when it came out. Re-achieving "The Explorer", "The Exalted", "The Loremaster"...i think it would have made good sense. Doing it now, not so much, but better late than never.
I like the grinds, i already have 46 exalted reps and none of the cata ones yet, so this shouldnt be too hard for me.

Blizzard is a developer of MMOs. MMOs keep their subscriptions by presenting players with ever-changing goals. This thread is full of whining about a developer of MMOs...acting like a developer of MMOs. Crying about this is the same as crying that you replaced your ICC purples with Vash'jir greens.
Some people really need to find a new hobby.

Alright JT, here's your perfect MMO.
Tier 1 raid is released, you grind up all your gear and raid it, get a legendary all that.
I release Tier 2, so I decide to take all your gear away, legendary included, and tell you "Too bad, the game's evolving so just keep up", so now you got to raid Tier 1 again and get that legendary, oh wait nvm on that since i removed it without warning, then you can raid T2.
Repeat ad nauseum. Oh, and when I release an expansion, even if the levels don't change, I delete your character and guild too, just cause the game is changing.

What happens next expansion? Take it away from everybody once again and say "get it at 60 reputations now." And so on for future expansions. Really? Are they gonna keep yanking everyone's chains every time more reputations get added to the game? I didn't have the title but why would I even work for it now knowing that every time I get it it can or will be taken away?

as someone who has had the exalted, and now doesn't, this seems awesome. i really only ground out 40 reps cause i was bored and liked shiny titles, same reason i was working towards loremaster. now i have a tangible reason to get 50 reps, and to finish the hydraxian waterlords and several other grinds. my only regret is that i probably have to do a couple of the goblin cities or the 2 remaining pvp reps. but really it just seems like a fun grind to distract me on the 5 days when i'm not raiding.
also, 40 exalted reps is insanely easy now. you don't even need raid reps to get it.

This would be a fine change IF they had made the cap 45 or 47.
If someone got 40 exalted reputations in WotLK, then you'd naturally re-acheive this by grinding out your cata reps with everyone else, the achievement would therefore still reward those people who've grinded out old-world / BC reps for this thing.
Another 10 reputations though... That forces people go back onto the old-world grind, and I don't agree with it.

Don't forget - if you're just questing around and/or doing dailies/dungeons/etc, you're also going to eventually hit exalted with your guild. That's probably #50.
