Patch 4.0.6a hotfixes for Friday, Feb. 11, 2011

Blizzard has rolled out another handful of hotfixes. These are in addition to the changes that came about this morning in the small 4.0.6a patch. Not a ton of changes overall, but still important (especially if you're a druid tank).
The full list of hotfixes is as follows:

There is always something that needs to be fixed.

Inc: Slow buffs to bears over the next month or so reverting most, if not all, the random changes to kitties that has affected bears more than kitties.

thank GOD for the death knight change. mobility should come for a price, not for doing what you already should be doing
Nick S Feb 11th 2011 5:40PM
Ditto snares (looks at Rogues.)
cbachelot Feb 11th 2011 5:47PM
Did you just say walking should be worked for? :P lol
Mr. Tastix Feb 11th 2011 8:26PM
This is my proposition. As a death knight player, I agree that mobility should come at a price. Is that price damage? Debatable.

Mobility is not walking. It is resistance to other players' and npc's snaring and rooting effects.
Saw this change in dks a mile away. Death knights already have 4 or 5 other abilities to close the gap with a caster.

How the original Death's advance went live we'll never know. This feels just about right now.
Cryoh Feb 11th 2011 5:47PM
I'm okay with the Death's Advance change, but how about reverting some of those DK damage nerfs a touch? They don't scare me in PvP at the moment.
Blakerton Feb 11th 2011 5:49PM
They nerf bears then they buff them... is this what it feels like to be a paladin?
Othgan Feb 11th 2011 6:25PM
No, this is what it feels like to be an Unholy DK.
Jorges Feb 11th 2011 7:49PM
Blizzard can't make up their minds about druids.
I wouldn't be surprised if they restore fear or root immunity for ferals in the next patch.
Jaq Feb 11th 2011 5:56PM
Yeah, Blizz, if you nerf Unholy DK damage because of Death's Advance, then nerf Death's Advance, can we get at least SOME of the damage back now? If the nerf wasn't because of Death's Advance, then could you please explain why you did it?
What will the hotfixes bring tomorrow?
Cataca Feb 11th 2011 6:35PM
They already did explain.
The nerfs to Death Coil and pet damage in 4.0.6 were never intended to compensate for the addition of Death's Advance, but were completely separate and PvE motivated.

That doesn't stop there from being a problem in PvP then.

fu blizz buff shaman
Vhaithe Feb 11th 2011 6:04PM
Thank God for the bear buff.
Twill Feb 11th 2011 6:11PM
I agree that bear threat needed major help...
But I don't like this change. Bears have ONE ability worth anything, Mangle. Can they just buff another ability?
Currently Bears have 2 types of abilities:
-Things that buff Mangle
-Mangle
Nivanoff Feb 11th 2011 7:00PM
It's not really a buff. The net result is a nerf, since there was a bug with one of our old talents that gave us 6% extra attack power. That was removed with the patch along with a 10% nerf. So we still lost a bit of damage.
kworry Feb 12th 2011 11:19AM
@Nivanoff
Assuming the percentages they used were based on the AP at the time, then it's not a 10% nerf, but a 12% nerf.
Assume a bear had 100 AP (to keep the math easy).
1000AP - 20% = 800AP
Then they upped it by 10%
800AP + 10% = 880AP
I know it's nit-picky, but it's a little worse than a 10% nerf.
I get the feeling Blizz nerfs more than they want to end up at so after complaints about the nerf we're all placated by the small rollback they implement. Clevah giiiiiirl.
