I don't know; a friend and I RP'd through Uldum, including the Jones questlines. Given our characters know nothing of the Indiana Jones movies, it was easy to ignore and just have fun with it ICly, while OOCly we were giggling and playing the theme music.Gnomebliteration, on the other hand, I couldn't find a way to justify ICly. But these days, in order to complete chains and a zone, you have to do every single quest in the line or risk locking yourself out of instance quests, specific rewards, etc. >.< If anything ruins the immersion for me as an RPer, it's what pen-and-paper RPers refer to as "railroading" through story. There're only one or two ways I can go to continue my quest, level, and complete the zone. It's better streamlined than it used to be, but seems a little too far in the other direction sometimes; on the other hand, it's easier to find what you're missing and where to continue forward with the story. If I'm "out of quests" there are a few places I can look to find an exclamation point that's since popped up. So, it has its ups and downs.
