Awesome! Now can I has my "Keymaster" acheesement back, too?

Yeah! I want keymaster back. I liked that achievement. It's still distressing to me that they ever thought it would be okay to just remove something people worked for, just because it would be more work to fix it properly. I didn't think the "when it's done" philosophy involved cutting corners.

If only they had a matching "Gatekeeper" achievement...

I was annoyed by that too, particularly as I specifically went out of my way right before the pre-release patch to get that achievement done. I knew that The Keymaster was either changing or being removed, but I figured it'd end up being a Feat of Strength. For some reason, they just outright removed it. I don't think any other achievement got that treatment; every other removed achievement became a FoS.

"It's still distressing to me that they ever thought it would be okay to just remove something people worked for, just because it would be more work to fix it properly."More work? They said that right now they don't have the tech to even do it. Big difference.

yeah still waiting on that, apparently we didn't have enough people getting forum banned over it for it to be a concern of theirs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't some of the keys required for the Keymaster get removed? I think I remember my keyring post-cataclysm being slightly emptier than when I grinded out keymaster. Even if the keys got removed though, I don't see why it didn't get turned into a FoS, after all, all true FoS [the ones you worked for, not the free ones, ala getting an achievement for being able to log in during wow anniversary, as if the pet wasn't enough] are a source of pride for the players who got them because they can say «back in the day I did this and that» and prove it too. I don't know about you but I'd love to go all «Back in the day we needed keys for things» xD
