Breakfast Topic: Did you accomplish your Lunar Festival goals?

Try to hold back your tears: Lunar Festival, the World of Warcraft in-game holiday based around the Chinese New Year, has come to an end. Personally, I don't know what I'm going to do with myself now that the event is over. I've been spending the past few weeks obsessively running old and outdated dungeons on my max-level characters, watching 20 different people standing around Moonglade without any idea about how to summon Omen, and deleting tons of spam-like in-game mail from all sorts of "elders." And what do I have to show for it? Nothing, because I still haven't done the stupid Children's Week PvP achievements. (And I probably never will.)
But enough about me. What about you? Did you accomplish your goals for the Lunar Festival? And, gosh darn, how are you ever going to survive the next 40-plus months without experiencing the joy and fun of the holiday?

Didn't mean to insinuate any superiority BS going on. Just pointing out the irony (since I recognized the name) of what I read as your sense of accomplishment: "I didn't waste my time on meaningless pursuits...I'm too busy making gold"
The irony of course being that all that gold (and as you implied, what it buys), and my violet drake are all equally nonexistent and meaningless. The only value in either is the enjoyment we receive in "gathering" our digital rewards. I found the implicit comparison laughable, hence the comment.

Comment fail I'll try to move this where it should be

This was actually my first ever holiday in Warcraft since I started in mid-January, and it was pretty cool. But the spam was nuts... and every time I tried to delete it, I kept getting an "Internal Mail Error" failure, resulting in every single letter being in my mailbox until they expire :(

I guess so...
I already have the "Elder" title (and Violet Protodrake) on my Pally, and wasn't too fussed about getting the title for any of my Alts (since you can buy epic flying now, and I'd already done all the achieves on my Main).
Despite this, the "exclamation point" on my mini-map in the centre of Orgrimmar was taunting me, and I decided late last night to put it out of its misery...
Around 11:55pm I ported to Moonglade, and thought, "what the heck, let's see if I can solo Omen..."
25mins later I had completed my one-and-only goal for this year's Lunar Festival!
The one bad point, I forgot to restock on the "Dumplings" (I still had ~30 Elders Stones from previous years), and the holiday was over (and vendors despawned) by the time I finished Omen off...
BTW, Pallys are OP! ;)

I completed the Elder achievement on 3 alts, an 82 Prot. Paladin which went smoothly since I could solo all the dungeons, and a Priest and Druid both 81... which did NOT go as smoothly since before I could finish the dungeons, Blizzard removed the ability to queue for Lich King instances over level 80, and there's no way I was going to solo Skadi or gatewatcher Krik'thir with my balance druid in mostly LK greens.
Managed to rope in a couple of generous DK guildies (one on each server) to spend an hour and a half on Friday running through the last several dungeons, except for the one or two that I could get just by stealthing.
Finally got the proto-drake on my main last year, trying to finish 3 alts this year may just drive me mad.

Sadly, no. I could have easily finished with my 85 in dungeon runs, but I just... never got around to finishing. School and other things occupied my time. We'll see about Love Is In The Air.

I finished Lunar. It's one of my favorite holiday events in World of Warcraft.
All I have left is the Valentine's Day event. When I realized I would have to kill a minimum of 360 mobs to make 12 rings... I stopped. I don't know when it changed. You used to have to make gifts for your faction leaders. I liked that. I know a lot hated spamming to get your heart unbroken, but I loved it (still have stacks of rings in my bank lol).
Any ways, I hope those that completed their meta this year love the drake and the increased riding. Congratulations. Sure was a crazy journey. Makes one wonder what goes on inside the mind who dreamt it up... 0_

First year I got to do it, was excited since I'd never done it before.
It's boring. :/
I got all the clothes, stocked up on the dumpling things with a ton of coins left over, and got every elder except the one in Ironforge. They can stick their pvp bait where the sun don't shine. Same with the Love Fool achievement.

This lunar festival is the first time I've ever completed all of a holiday's achievements, in four years of playing. I didn't know what else to do wih my time after blizzard made my feral Druid worthless on Tuesday.
Angidget Feb 13th 2011 7:53PM
I got the achievement. I had a blast. Thanks to the help of my real life love fool, I got the Love is in the Air achievement as well. Since I'm going after the achievements on my druid I look forward to the violet drake when I'm tired of looking at the purple flight form.

I completely ignored it... except for getting Omen on my main (it was bugged during the end of TBC -- if my timeline wasn't confused) and then had no time during LK and the very few quests with xp for my alts.

Grabbed a few fireworks and some lunar PJs. Not a lot of enthusiasm for this "holiday," because, at my age, the LAST thing I want is the title "Elder."
