Well, WoW doesn't get it right all the time and a game company would be a fool to be a lemming and try to make everything like WoW.

On the other hand, making a mechanic different just so it isn't WoW is bad if the replacement sucks... I'm looking at you LOTRO mail system!

SWTOR does have that cover system coming out, that's an oddity even in other types of games. Not unique to BioWare, but they've been successful with it.
