The Daily Quest: Stuff and nonsense

WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere.
Yesterday my guild discovered that using a Potion of Illusion while standing next to someone in Sandstone Drake form will turn you into a Sandstone Drake. You can then have that Sandstone Drake ride around on the original Sandstone Drake. And then raid chat promptly dissolved into laughter and conversation that isn't appropriate for polite company -- but then part of the reason I enjoy my guild is that we're so very, very silly.
Speaking of silly things and other nonsense, we've got a random smattering of blog posts from around the blogosphere for you today:
- Raging Monkeys wonders about the silly nature of loot names in Cataclysm.
- Pink Pigtail Inn ponders the possibilities and perplexing puzzlement of perpetual pals in WoW.
- Target Dummies wonders if age has anything to do with player performance in game.
- Lastly, I Like Bubbles has a lovely flowchart demonstrating a basic overview of Cataclysm raiding. It is completely accurate.

I was talking with my GM the other night and he asked "what do you think, should I get that Alchemy mount?". I told him "I don't know, I wouldn't personally just cause that's a ridiculous amount of money, but you make more than I do".
Tonight I'm going to tell him "Yes, you should get it" after I stock up on those potions.

Potion of illusion has been disappointing for me so far. I first saw the wonder of these potions in Totalhalibut's beta video (with the giant dinosaur!!).
I was doing a dungeon run with some guildies in BRC, and kept being turned into our dwarf hunter (I'm a night elf druid). Now, I figured I'd try something cool, so I trailed away form the group, and stood all alone with my Li'l Deathwing pet, snickered to myself over how awesome I'd look as a Deatwing look-a-like, chugged down the potion.. and got turned into a TAUREN!
So.. yeah.
Disappointed, so far.

This week, Tales from the Void puts on the tinfoil hat to ponder the future of Blizz MMO's. You gotta wonder if the market research goldmine of the dungeon finder will spell the end of the "blessed trinity" MMO design...

Actually, I shouldn't say "spell the end of" so much as "spawn an alternative to". ;)

Silly Moments in guilds - Are necessary *
Also. My latest post over at Shattered Beginnings is a review of my journey from 1-70. Which includes a comparison between Azeroth and Outland. This also has some very unusual pictures from my Birthday, which is relevant to WoW, alongside some other things which you should really check out!
