It might sound lame to some, but when I was overcoming some rather large issues in my life, WoW was there for me in lots of ways, and one of them was in the music. I used to listen to tracks like Elwynn Forest and Teldrassil while I was trying to get to sleep, or when I was around town, just to calm me down. I'll always have a soft spot for it.
On another note, when I was in Mt Hyjal, I was doing one of the quests in the fire underground bits and I fell in the lava. There was no way to get out but to hearth, and my hearth was still set to Dalaran. I asked for help and a nice warlock and two other guys helped summon me out. It was a bit of a wait (but less than it would have been to hearth and fly, etc) and when I finally got out, Nightsong started playing in Hyjal. It just added a certain epicness to the whole thing and it's one of my fondest memories of early Cataclysm. :)
Oh, and music to me is very important in games. I never turn it off, and bad music can make or break a game for me. I won't touch the American version of Sonic CD because the soundtrack sucks. :(
