In reviewing classic, favorite machinima, Joe Perez stepped up and proposed Pretty Fly (For a Draenei). I don't know what it is about the draenei, but they absolutely seem to inspire the very best music videos. Of course, in a lot of ways, Nyhm invented the WoW parody music video, so it's appropriate that he sang for the entrance of everyone's favorite space goats.
I'm not sure this video was the best showcase for Nyhm's vocals, but the originality and energy in the theme more than made up for it. Nyhm was always able to hit the sweet spot between "having fun" and "poking fun," and Pretty Fly (For a Draenei) is a good example. The lyrics aren't actually pro-draenei, if you listen to them carefully, but there's still a certain fun and affection happening here. Interested in the wide world of machinima? I absolutely love the concept of this video, having been a big fan of the Offspring many years ago. I couldn't get through the whole thing though. The actual video itself is great as well as the lyrics; however, the singing was just atrocious. I get that not every person talented enough to do Machinima is going to be an amazing vocal artist but not a one of the people voicing the characters can sing. A for effort, C- for execution though.
Overall, the idea is good. Although the chorus "So out of place, the new Alliance race" sounds like all of the forum-dwellers that complained about "lollore" and just comes off irritating. I could forgive that, but...
Dear lord this is his worst delivery ever. I know he normally raps, but that's what this song IS. He swings wildly back and forth across the beat without ever actually hitting it. This is probably my least favorite of his videos.
As always Nyhm proves to put out great material. Still a good classic Machinima, one I would never turn someone new to the game away from for a second.
The only possible fault I can point to this video is that it seems like it might need to be... what's the word, re-synchronized? I get the impression that the vocals are being done in the room next door through five-foot granite, while the music is being conducted downstairs in the garage...
This was one of the first parodies I ever heard and, say what you want about Nyhm's vocals, I love it. It's funny, it's upbeat and (you probably hate to admit it) it's catchy. A very good choice for this review of old favorites.
Too painful to listen to for more than 30 seconds:( Out of synch and out of tune, but whoever voiced the Draenei was nearest to the mark out of all the collaborators. Nyhm's vocals are way overhyped in my opinion. He could raspberry Hall of the Mountain King into a mic and people would still big it up like its the best thing since his last effort.

Nyhm has always been my favorite of the genre... creator of my personal theme song:

Because promoting the wholesale extinction of a race is fun.

Nyhm has some pretty awesome songs/videos. Found them on youtube by accident one night. Love love the latest cataclysm songs.

I was more concerned with him swinging wildly back and forth between the notes and the not-quite-notes.
But then I'm not and have never been a Nymh fan, so my opinion can be discounted.
PS--I still think 'singers' should be able to carry a tune though!

My favorite WoW movie maker of all times, but this one is one of his worse. Even so, I still enjoy it which says a lot about Nyhm.

Azuremist Aisle? Is that the produce section or the deli?
