Quick noob question...

Does the charging dock require a separate power source (I.e. a plug) or will it work from just being connected to your computer via USB?

The charging dock is also the receiver, and it gets all its power from a USB port. The dock uses the same cord that you plug into the mouse if you want it to go wired for a while, you unplug one and plug in the other.
