Pox holds RP workshops on Shadow Council this Saturday

Roleplay is more than just something you do here and there; to a lot of folks, it can be a fine art. Roleplay goes beyond just the basic mechanics of the game and attempts to introduce another level of personal story and immersion to the game. Of course, for folks just getting started with RP, that can be a little intimidating.
Don't worry; your fellow roleplayers want to help. On Saturday, the guild <Pox> on Shadow Council (US-H) is holding a roleplay workshop. This event is the first such workshop, and for now, they're focusing on how to emote. Emoting really does go beyond /train and /flirt, and Pox will help show you how to get it done.
The event takes place Hordeside on Shadow Council (US) in Thunder Bluff on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. server time (Mountain Standard). Check it out, and let us know what you think.

So proud of Shadow Council, my home server, for making it on Wow Insider. Go Pox! It's so nice to have folks keeping RP alive on one of the oldest realms in Azeroth.

This is definitely a step in the right direction as far as making RP more attractive to newer players, and I am thrilled to see it.
What I would REALLY like to see, though, is a mixer type event. The most difficult, daunting aspect of getting into roleplaying is finding people. Due to the preponderance of trolls and RP griefers these days, a lot of roleplaying niches on servers have been driven practically underground, and good RP can be difficult to find for new players. A mixer type event would go a long way toward helping new players get established.

If you check out Shadow Council's RP events thread on our realm forum, we have several social mixer events on a weekly basis, both Alliance and Horde side. :)
Nice job to my pals in Pox, I know they've been working hard on gearing up for this.

I'll definitely be there! From time to time I try to dip my toe in the RP pool, only to get nervous because I can't swim. This sounds like a lot of fun :) Hopefully it doesn't get griefed too badly...

Sounds like a fantastic idea, im always second gussing my ability to RP and think i come up with some dammed aweful characters at times having responded awkwardly to other people when rping and regreting it only adds to the issue, shame its not on a europian server otherwise id deffinetly go. Good that its happening though.

Glad to see this. Haven't yet done any "serious" RP in WoW, just in other games. So this looks like fun.

Those of us on other realms are watching this event closely, and will be there to offer support. If all goes well, we hope to follow in Pox's foot steps and start hosting RP training events on our respective homes.

We have an event alliance side on twisting nether once a month. Worgan based event every full moon, but we invite all to attend. It's a social mixer and a good chance to get a large gathering of rp'rs together.

I attended this event as someone who knows very little about RP but interested in learning some things about it. I have to say that they did a wonderful job.
There were a few griefers but they didn't hang around long (short attention spans apparently).
I enjoyed the explanations and examples and there were plenty of people there giving their own examples of emotes. They gave time for Q&A which was appreciated (even if I didn't have a question to ask). I would say that I would make time to attend another one if they put it on.
