The Queue: Flop

A long weekend of either sleeping on my lap while I play Marvel vs. Capcom 3 or directly preventing me from doing so by stepping on my fightstick has simply exhausted Little-Little.
Haimdall asked:
We know that humans are descendants of the Vrykul, and that the only reason that they're still around are because some babies were sent off to the Eastern Kingdoms as to avoid the whole mass killing of children thing. What I'd like to know, is: who took care of these tiny children? Someone must have, especially if they were weaker and smaller than your average Vrykul. Who manned the boats? More importantly, why is there no evidence of this history in the Eastern Kingdoms?
It's reasonable to assume that there were some vrykul that stayed with the young humans who fled Northrend. If your question is why hasn't anyone found evidence of vrykul living in the Eastern Kingdoms, well, bear in mind that humans are pretty terrible at recording their own history -- to the point that they didn't even know they were descended from vrykul until just now. It honestly just doesn't seem like humans are much concerned about their far-flung history. That's more of a dwarf thing. Humans are firmly rooted in the present.
BitsM asked:
What happened to the world dragons after the Cataclysm?
Lethon and Emeriss are dead in canon, killed by adventurers pre-Cataclysm. Ysondre and Taerar are still around, though one is in slightly better condition than the other. People wanting to follow up on the Nightmare Dragons will want to go to Feralas.
Frost Wizard Zeddicus asked:
Got a question. Any chance Blizzard will ever provide the option to hide shoulder slot like they do for helm and cloak?
Not a chance. Blizzard has stated over and over that shoulder armor is an important part of WoW's aesthetic. It's also a status symbol in that it's the easiest way for someone to identify your level, progression, and class.
Radda asked:
Will they ever add the last two faction leaders to the For The Alliance/Horde requirements? I want to kill Gallywix.
I'm positive they'll be giving Gallywix and Greymane permanent homes in later patches. Gallywix's representation in-game is so nonsensical and incomplete that Blizzard simply must have something up their sleeve for him, especially given his estate in Azshara that functions as nothing right now.

A Queue 3 minutes old, and not a single post on it? And by the time I post this, there will be dozens and dozens.
I don't think they will add those two faction leaders for the simple fact that Gallywix's most logical place to be isn't a major city, and isn't as protected as the others.

Other questions didn't come until 12:08.

I noticed.
Usually, the moment a Queue is posted it's fully of questions. And by the time you have one post off, there are several there.

You mean to tell me that anyone that's not a level 13 Draenei visits the Exodar now that even the Jewelcrafting trainer set up shop in Stormwind?
icepyro Feb 20th 2011 1:13PM
Heh, well it is Sunday.
And I agree that Blizz probably won't add those two. Both achievements only require the leader of the various capital cities. Those without cities of their own are not part of the achievement. I am a bit miffed that people question about the newest two races when two of the original races (Troll/gnome) are not part of the achievement.
Drakkenfyre Feb 20th 2011 1:34PM
SR, The Exodar is a city, with plenty of guards.
Gallywix's Pleasure Palace is not.
cartmensfoe Feb 20th 2011 6:36PM
I imagine that Gallywix will be overthrown as a sort of filler patch, and replaced with someone much more lore related. But it will be a fun dungeon, hopefully, involving a doctor evil like building inside the pleasure palace.

I disagree. The leaders of the Gnomes and Trolls, respectively, are considered a part of the achievement, and they have no capital cities to their names. And they didn't even have the minor locations they have now until recently.

except that vol'jin and mekkatorque aren't actually part of the meta at all. Seems unlikely to me that they're going to add the two new guys as well, even if they DO give them more permanent homes. they've got a leader for each of the capital cities, so i'd speculate that unless they actually make new capitals (which seems unlikely), we probably won't see the new leaders added to the achievement.

just a quick question- I noticed that when I returned after a year off from WOW that my Achievement points weren't what I remembered. While it could be my failing memory (at my ancient age of 31), I was wondering, do we lose the points associated with an achievement when it becomes a feat of strength?
Bapo Feb 20th 2011 12:11PM
Yes you do
Flarebear Feb 20th 2011 12:11PM
I think so, as well as you losing achievement points when they simply take out an acheivement (the Keymaster comes to mind). I would do some more research into it, but

Josh Feb 20th 2011 12:15PM
Yep. Feats of strength do not have any points.
Drakkenfyre Feb 20th 2011 12:34PM
According to Blizzard when an Achievement is converted to a FoS, you do NOT lose points.
However, when an Achievement is pulled completely, yes, you do.
The Keymaster was removed, and a couple others have been removed. That's probably what you are missing points from.
Joseph Smith Feb 20th 2011 1:58PM
Not true. Feats of strength do NOT have acheivement points for them, therefore you will lose them if an Achieve is converted to a FoS. 60-Man Onyxia did that to me when it became a FoS, as well as a couple of others.
I've never seen a blue statement that you would keep acheivement points when being converted to Feats of strength, but would be willing to be proved wrong on it.

I want to kill Gallywix too...
... And I play Horde.
Chokaa Feb 20th 2011 1:15PM
I want to kill Gallywix, and I play goblin!!
The whole 'I'm gonna sell y'all to slavery after taking all your life savings and then some' isn't that bad, it's just business, right? Doesn't mean I can't hold a grudge... And want his life. Ok, so maybe I just want to be Trade Prince. Or for Boss Mida to have it. Either way works for me :)
Kar On E Feb 20th 2011 1:52PM
I think most hordies want to kill Gallywix more than the Alliance do. Frankly, I'm not sure why Thrall even kept him as a leader...save perhaps for wanting to keep the player free to adventure.
That being said, my Dwarf DK so calls dibs on his Pleasure Palace if WoW ever gets player housing!
Necrosaro Feb 20th 2011 6:19PM
I never really understood why Gallywix would be left in charge of the Goblins after the whole "enslavement" thing. Thrall usually isn't that big on slaves, so is it just me, or does it seem a little out of character for him to just let that slide? It would have made more sense if instead there was another leader who was waiting to step up and that one took over instead of what actually happened in the starting area.
Angus Feb 20th 2011 6:58PM
Thrall made a good call keeping Gallywix.
He just made Garrosh, a headstrong, brash, and potentially explosive Orc, Warchief.
Garrosh has warlords that take things too far, cultists near the top of his advisors, and a trade princ willing to sell his mother into slavery(what, I'm pretty sure she was on the boat!) now.
He is going to have to keep an eye on Gallywix. And that means he will learn the value of not being a douchenozzle when someone else is in charge.
Oh and Thrall figured if Gallywix got out of control the Goblin that brought him down originally could be called in with 9 to 24 buddies to fix things. And maybe the Alliance would be willing to help...
I think her Tallest will be Trade Prince soon enough.
