The Queue: Tour the Blizzard

I'd like to put out a plea to the community:
Please don't queue for a random heroic and then AFK for 5 minutes at the beginning. You have a half an hour to "BRB bafroom" while you're waiting. Make good use of it.
/facepalm
Nacole asked:
Do resto druids need spirit?
Spirit is nice, but it's not a major stat anymore for us. I don't recommend (and neither does anything I've read) gemming for it. Intellect is where it's at for us. From my heroic and raiding experience, whatever spirit you get from your gear will be enough.
I don't have the most amazing gear (around 9,100 GearScore, about 110k mana raid buffed), and I rarely find myself with less than 50% mana on boss fights in raids. The only time I'm at all stressed for mana is when people are not executing correctly, but then that's something they need to work on -- in Cataclysm, I don't think it's our job to be safety nets for people anymore.
More raid instances ahead
Henry asked:
Do you think there will be two raids in 4.1?
Yes. Blizzard has said before that it wants multiple raids at each tier of content, much like it was back in BC. I haven't heard anything contrary to this, so I think it's safe to assume the trend will continue. It's possible we'll see two or three. The only thing we know for certain, though, is that one will be a Firelands raid -- nothing else, though.
Exploration achievement for Blizzard HQ
Buffles asked:
Around the 1st of April its vacation time for me and I'm going to be around Blizzards part of town, and I know they have a museum at their building. I'd love to be able to view all the art up close and personal. Is this museum available to the public for open tours, or is it just for special events, press, etc.. .
Blizzard doesn't offer public tours or viewings. Its "museum" is just a collection of Blizzard artifacts, from what I understand (no doubt cool though; don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking it). They have been known to occasionally give press tours and other such VIP things, but even those are few and far between.
You might not want to go there, though. Earthquakes have been known to strike Blizzard HQ. Probably the best photo tour of Blizzard I've seen, along with captions, was done by Ars Technica back in April 2010.

Dear Queue:
How's it going?
MattKrotzer Feb 22nd 2011 11:06AM
Seriously though: I just recently reclaimed my geek cred by getting caught up on Firefly. (I worked nights back when it originally aired, so I'm a bit late to the game, I admit.) While watching the Jaynestown episode, I discovered an in-game WoW reference I'd have missed otherwise: Mudder's Milk, which is sold by the ogres during Brewfest.
It has "All the protein, vitamins and carbs of your grandma's best turkey dinner, plus fifteen percent alcohol."
What are your favorite obscure references?
missemilyblack Feb 22nd 2011 11:07AM
How thoughtful of you to ask :3
MattKrotzer Feb 22nd 2011 11:19AM
Thanks. I'm glad you appreciate it.
Also just dawned on me that K. Lee Smallfry in Zangarmarsh was a Firefly reference too.
radda Feb 22nd 2011 11:28AM
There's Loch Modan's "CURSE YOUR SUDDEN BUT INEVITABLE BETRAYAL!" reference too.
I about fell out of my chair laughing while leveling my dwarf shaman.
Adam Holisky Feb 22nd 2011 11:37AM
Pretty fucking great. Thanks for asking.

Isn't Deagle that dog pokemon who can paint?
Cephas Feb 22nd 2011 1:18PM
You're thinking of Smeargle. A Deagle is a gun (Desert Eagle).
Drakkenfyre Feb 22nd 2011 1:42PM
Before pets were converted into spells, and lost their flavor text, the Zangarmarsh Firefly had the flavor text "Still flying..."
That's one you won't see any more.

You should read his Tweets. LOL

http://www.wowhead.com/item=24283/an-antique-gun
This is an item found from a lockbox for us rogues. It refers to the antique gun in the "trash" episode of firefly. I have only seen it once in game.

Whose?

It is going to be a third faction within the game players can choose, the Terrans. While experimenting with experimental wormhole technology of the experimental kind, a terran scientist is knocked over by a marine reaching for another beer. He inputs the wrong code into the experimental wormhole machine and they open a portal to Azeroth. They are assault by millions upon millions of bears that they fight relentless to out down over the next thirteen minutes. Upon seeing the horrors this new dimension has, they set forth to cleanse it for the safety of their own, not wanting to see a repeat of the experimental wormhole experimental technology letting loose millions of bears. Leaving the Terrans nothing but bear asses for their troubles. They set upon Azeroth with marines, tanks and a few firebats who were bored because there was nothing else to set fire to at the base.
