I don't run an SPriest, but a very big yes to that.
I used Sorrowsong, along with the Hymnal (which was placed by the Stump- Obey the Stump!), and I absolutely took note if and where there were little bugs and lizards about. I killed them dead right before the encounter.
I equipped it by accident recently on *grumble* Corbous, from my own shiny new Alchemist Stone, and was impressed with how much up-time it had. I mean, it didn't help the group, with the wiping and rage-quitters and all, because Stonecore, but I made a note to try and have it on the next time.
