The Queue: Hey, pretty lady. Nice ... hair.

How about that Dragon Age II demo? How many of you have checked it out already? While playing through it, I couldn't help but notice that the women of Thedas all seem to have huge ... Monty Python jokes. It's a bit much, isn't it?
Joakim asked:
Is the Defias Brotherhood terrorists, and if so, why or more to the point, Who branded them as terrorists?
Oh, dear. My gut says answering this question is asking for trouble because it includes everybody's favorite buzzword, but I'll try to tackle it anyway.
In the loosest sense of the word, sure, they're terrorists. The most basic definition of terrorism is, "to instill fear through the use of violence and/or threats." Spank your child if he doesn't behave? Terrorism! Heck -- threatening to ground him? Terrorism! In that sense, yeah, they're terrorists. They do use violent methods for political gain, and that qualifies for the label. However, I think terrorist is a totally lame label that doesn't adequately describe anybody's actions.
The Defias Brotherhood is a group of extremely disgruntled citizens of Stormwind who believe the current leadership is doing a crap job. The original iteration of the Brotherhood under Edwin VanCleef got screwed out of their pay after rebuilding Stormwind after the war. They were unhappy with the nobles' decision to not pay them, so they rioted and became thieves and assassins. The second iteration of the Brotherhood under Vanessa VanCleef (who is easily my favorite character this expansion) is a group of people who felt Stormwind abandoned them during the war effort in Northrend -- taking out the Lich King took so much of Stormwind's attention, both financially and militarily, that the surrounding territories back home suffered.
In both cases, they became criminals. Criminals with good intent are still criminals. I think that label is better than "terrorist" in this case. Do they engage in terrorism? Yes, sure. But just calling them terrorists doesn't adequately describe their modus operandi.
GrumblyStuff asked:
What was the question I was so excited about asking but totally forgot?
I think it was something about RIFT.
... you can put down the blunt objects, people. I was kidding! I swear!
Udderpowered asked:
Why oh why do people stand in fires but run out of my healing rain?
Blizzard has spent so much time training us to run out of things on the ground that running out of them is instinct. People not paying attention are going to stand in fire, but the few times they do pay attention they're just going to see junk underneath them and run -- pure instinct.
What's even better is the ground AoE that the trash in Bastion of Twilight casts. It's damn near the exact same spell effect as the priest ground heal. Do I run out of it? Do I stand in it? Is this heals or is it fire? Who knows! Stand in it and find out!
Logan asked:
I was doing a Karazhan run with my guild for the achievement the other day and when we downed the last boss he doped Gorehowl. I looked at the flavor text that said it was the weapon of Grom Hellscream. Why is the axe of one of the hordes greatest heroes doped by a random demon in an entry level raid?
Probably one of the itemization developers just thought it would be cool and put it in there for kicks. Since then, Blizzard's creative development team has retconned Gorehowl being in Malchezaar's possession. Thrall hands the weapon down from Grom to Garrosh, so most likely Thrall picked it up when Grom bit the dust and hung onto it. Either Blizzard retconned it, or Thrall robbed some raider's bank and took the axe from them.
NO NAME asked:
When are Michael Sacco and Alex Ziebart gonna tie the knot?
That seems like it would be a difficult task -- though Mike does live in Massachusetts! Or was it Maine? Mexico? Madagascar? Montenegro?

She's rich, she's powerful, she's got huge... tracts of land.

Thanks for the link, Alex. The hi-res version even shows a freckle on the left boob.
Bonus points for realism, I say.

The link just a few comments lower... /facepalm
I believe deep in my heart that someday, WoW Insider will debut a fully functional, nearly stupid-proof, next-gen comment & reply system that will totally blow our minds.
In a good way, I mean.

A couple weeks ago on one of my RP servers I was trading MP/Holy Grail jokes in General chat while waiting for the boat to leave Stormwind, and I turned my toon around and found a female dwarf standing there, named "Ugetraxoland". The timing of this coincidence was awesome :D

I heard she was quite popular, but she does have some knockers...

So I've been playing a Resto druid since Wrath, and i do like it. I've read the changes to boomkin and its very alluring! But my main problem is that I hate the way boomkin looks... I can't see the armor I have, nor do i like being fat...
I guess my question is, do you think Blizz would ever consider a Glyph that would leave me in Normal/Caster form with say... Antlers or something? So a player could look at me and tell I'm Balance, but leave out the Fat and feathers? (Cause I'm sure that's the main problem they will have)

Holy crap they all have the biggest jugs ever I think. I don't even know how the mage girl doesn't just topple over, even mom was overly top heavy. It seems a bit much. Outside of that though, I loved the demo, the combat felt pretty awesome, though it did feel like it could get stale on longer fights. Smashing A over and over and over and over just waiting for the health bar to drop is a little like obnoxious.

Thankfully, the full version will have an auto-attack option that can be toggled on. I imagine I'll leave it off until level 7 or so, as I should have a decent number of activated abilities by then.
Alex Ziebart Feb 23rd 2011 11:17AM
The PC version has an auto-attack toggle, so hopefully the 360 version will get one for launch. Mashing A WOULD suck. Also, shameless plug, my full Dragon Age II impressions: http://bit.ly/gnWy5O
Maybe that will keep the comments section here WoW-related so Adam can actually find questions to answer tomorrow. ;)

seems to me like she IS toppling over, and holding on to that staff is the only thing that's keeping her up.
i've never played dragon age, but i have to assume all the female characters in DA2 come with powerful self healing, to off-set the constant lower back damage...

Something occurred to me last night... the bits we've played in the demo are parts of a story being told by that Dwarf, which already changed once. I think I read somewhere that someone noticed the boobs of one character changed size between the two story iterations, but I haven't checked to see for myself. If that's the case though, then I'll bet at some point his story ends, and they'll be a little less chesty. If that's the case, then that's a brilliant little detail by BioWare, because it's really noticeable, but not exactly obvious as to why.
Kaphik Feb 23rd 2011 11:10AM
My Tauren warrior still has Gorehowl from Karazhan. Since I play on a roleplay server I think of it as a replica, made in honor of Grom Hellscream.
NekoDaimyo Feb 23rd 2011 12:09PM
Psh, I've got two of 'em. Used them to level most of the way to 80, too.
Narayana Feb 23rd 2011 12:22PM
Funny- I read Neko's comment before the OP and (given the intro to the Queue) thought we were still talking about boobs.
