What WoW mobile app would you like to see next?

For those of us who simply can't get enough WoW time in while we're in front of a computer, Blizzard has already created the Mobile Armory and Mobile Auction House applications. We can look up character stats, achievements, gear, and talents as well as buy, sell, and collect gold from our auction house deals. These are very cool tools to give yourself a little more Warcraft on the go or at work.
I think there are a lot more possibilities, though. There's a new app out there that can solve sudoku puzzles just by taking a picture of them. There's an app that can tell you where you are based on star constellations or tell you what the sky looks like above you based on your GPS and the angle of your phone.
Don't you think WoW could take advantage of some of these amazing advances in phone technology? What about an app for crafting? It could work in conjunction with the auction house application and let you do crafting from your smart phone. I can picture an easy interface that would be similar to our in-game crafting menu, showing the recipes with the sort by categories such as item type, materials on hand, or gem color. Of course, considering how fast our technology is rolling out, it might not be too long before we could see a slimmed-down version of Warcraft in our hands. Can you imagine WoW Lite? It probably wouldn't be suitable for raiding, but questing, gathering, or maybe easy dungeons could be a blast on a long bus ride.
Would you get excited about a crafting app or WoW Lite, or is there another application idea you've been dying to see Blizzard develop?

Id like to see a "How is Blizzard Going to Screw WoW Up More" app. You could open it and get the latest updates on how they will eventually take all the individualism out of classes by merging all the classes into one, you could also get the latest information on how your class now sucks and others now have the ability to one shot you (until next patch), and even a built in "Balance PvP" Button that never seems to work when you push it.

I see what you did there. Subtle.

How about the armory app for Android?
Zo? Feb 23rd 2011 8:43PM
I came in to say this. We have both other apps, but not the Armory one yet. I am not a fan of Apple or their iPhone and will never own one. I honestly see no reason why, with the other two WoW apps currently on Android, the original hasn't been brought over yet. What's the hold up, Blizzard? More people have Androids than iPhones, after all.

The DroidArmory app is a great alternative. Theres an ad version and a paid version. Check it out, if you havent already.

A chat app would be great. Be able to chat in all channels besides /s, /y, /p, /r, and /bg.

Never, ever going to happen.
Day 1, Trade would explode with trolls.
Day 2, those trolls would be banned.
Repeat.
Mahgo Feb 23rd 2011 9:05PM
@Drak
Banning trolls? Im yet to see the issue xD
Drakkenfyre Feb 23rd 2011 9:13PM
No, it's not the banning which would be bad.
It would be the explosion of trolls to begin with. Is why I doubt they would ever do that.

If nothing else, they could implement a channel that allows general chat anywhere ingame in which you could chat from your mobile phone, a website, and a stand-alone pc chat application.
Allow you to use your mobile phone to also chat in guild chat and you are set.

Real ID chat would be nice, and they said they've said they were working on it.
Also, I'd like to see the authenticator app icon updated for the retina screen, because I'm the world's most fastidious person, but also because complaining about it gives me an excuse to say "fastidious".

I have to agree with everyone about the armory app for Android. I would also really like a guild chat/Battle Net chat app (possibly combined w/ the armory app). It'd be really helpful for when my internet poops out. :/

None of these ideas are really necessary as iOS, through the EveryAir app, can play WoW. You have hideable mouse-clicking functions, zooming in, etc.
Real ID chat and gchat would be nice but these aren't necessary either with EveryAir.
The main problem with EveryAIr is that, at the moment, it requires you to be on the same network but the developers have stated that they intend to get around this necessity as soon as possible.

Have you actually seen the performance of those apps? You would be lucky to get 5 FPS.
The company says they are improving, but I doubt they will ever be useful for more than doing your mail. Maybe working on the AH.

Yeah, Ironically after writing this article I got an iphone and looked into the app options and found that. There is another one too that's a little cheaper but I can't recall the name. Either way I haven't yet been willing to cough up that much money to play wow on my and lose my job. Because, I'm pretty sure getting mobile wow and losing a job would coincide with each other.

I think the next APP I'd like to see is... oh yea THE CURRENT APPS FOR OTHER MOBILE DEVICES! You do know that not everyone has sold his/her soul to Apple.
List of other known device platforms:
Android
WP7/Zune HD
All shapes and sizes of tablets (other then iPads)
Tuttutt Feb 23rd 2011 8:51PM
I'd be happy as well with either Realid chat or maybe guild chat
Snowfeather Feb 23rd 2011 9:02PM
Honestly, the app I would like to see would be something of a raid comp app. I'm a hunter, and an officer in my guild, but I have not memorized everyone's specs. We do sign ups on the website and people are bad about recalling to place a note on their specs, as realistically, only I need to know it. An app that would let me set up raid comp in conjuncture with the armory so when I type in who is sign up it would import their armory talents would make figuring out what pet to bring in advance so much easier :D
Nick Feb 23rd 2011 9:43PM
I too am waiting for an android version of the armory. Blizzard really dropped the ball on that one.
