Patch 4.1 PTR: New hydra pet available for hunters

Hunters have campaigned and begged for it, and now it appears to be on the horizon. According to a post on MMO-Champion, the patch 4.1 PTR contains a couple of spells that should be of interest to hunters. First is a tamed pet passive with a hydra icon, and the second is the ability Bellowing Roar, which includes the following: "The hydra lets out a bellowing roar, increasing the critical strike chance of all party and raid members by 5%."
So get ready, hunters -- that elusive hydra pet you've been craving will (potentially) be yours soon, in patch 4.1. I'm going to name mine George.

I would if the rotation wasn't boring and the DPS sub-par. : / I started wow as a beastmaster hunter, I'd love for the spec to be relevant again.
Bit of trivia: BM during TBC, MM during Wrath and SV now in Cataclysm as top specs. O.o Coincidence? I think NOT! x)

lol marks can easily pull more atm and they are nerfing and buffin the specs to put them closer in line to each other my hunter is BM and i do just fine

I already tamed the ghost hydra at the beginning of WotLK. He's loud and obnoxious, but he won't be special anymore (probably other than being ghostly). :(

You can't name hydra just George; there's three heads! It has be something line GeorgeFredBob or TonyJackNate or MarthaSueJill (or JaneMikePete? can a "single" hydra have multiple gender heads?).

Drowning in excitement, by gad, I will be SOOOOOO happy! Hydras have always been my favourite fantasy creatures and now I can stop grumbling about core hounds and chimeras.

I tamed a bugged hydra modeled mob (the game thinks its a croc) back in WOTLK from an oracle quest. The thing was huge to begin with but it shrunk right down to a be slightly smaller then my troll. They will shrink. trust me

I already got a hydra pet (it's semi transparent) but I never use it because its idle animation is annoying.

Finally Cervantes the Ghost Hydralisk will be properly represented in-game! I just hope they convert that model over from Crocolisk, so he has a useful ability, instead of the ever-so-lame 20% movespeed reduction. Keep your damn PVP abilities off, Blizzard.

LOL!!! I now have 4/6 spirit beasts, omg i love them all, all my pets are rare spawns, every single one of them, I now carry, Arcturis, Gondria, Loque'nahak, and Skoll, when I lvl to 85, Ghostcrawler is mine! they will all accompany me on my journies around Azeroth and beyond, too bad we didn't have a sixth pet slot on us lol ...I'd carry "TomDikNHairy my new Hydra pet ;)
It took me ten minutes to tame Loque'nahak, and 5 days of 20 hr. days, to tame Skoll!
...four hrs. for Arcturis, 2 hrs for Gondria, I'll wager Ghostcrawler will be easier. idk.
... I named Skoll, "SKÖÄL ( after the chewing tobacco lolz),
...Gondria I named, "LâdyLâvender",
... Arcturis I named "Spektrum" and
... Loque'nahak, I named "LädyÇursé, cuz the 85 Priest that found him for me was named Curse, so in respect I named her LadyCurse... yeah I like the special characters, so hate me now lolz

Hmmm, but what I don't understand is why we beast master hunters cannot tame a wooly friggin mammoth!! I'd name mine MMO lolz ...but can u imagine the "GORE" from those magnificient tusks!!??
...plus, we could use it as a mount!...sheesh, do we playa's have'ta think of everything for you blizz :P
...C'mon MON!!! wtf?..it's the perfect tanking pet...and as a mount would be ideal no?
vote for ME! for blizzard president!..I will allow wooly mammoth pets to be mounts! :)...ok then we mise' well tame dragonkin too huh.

I lament that it's the 5% wolf buff and not something a little rarer like 4% physical vunerability (I really hate ravagers). But the more I tihnk about it, the more I realize that the Hydra is probably going to be a tenacity pet, and 5% crit is a nice buff to have while soloing. So it's not really going to be threatening the wolves except while soloing.
It's all datamined ptr shenanigans anyway. We'll see what April brings.

Actually, this patch has shrunken those huge wasps. I was really surprised and disappointed to see my stinglasher so tiny :-/
