I have to say, I really don't want them to reduce the difficulty of fishing achievements and I would hate for them to remove requirements for the "Salty" title as frozndevl suggests. I worked long, long, long and hard on most every fishing achievement I've gotten and I always wear my "Salty" title with the utmost pride. It represents the greatest amount of time that I've ever dedicated to a single title.
It also makes me nervous when I see people talking about how Blizzard needs to "fix" fishing. From every developer post I've ever read, fishing is functioning exactly as intended. It isn't supposed to be exciting. It's supposed to be fishing. Nat Pagle says it best:
"If you ask me, the best part about fishing is its slow pace. It gives one time to think, to reflect on past events and to plan for future ones. Oh, and it's also a great excuse to drink. Heavily."
