What makes you think it isn't? I don't remember ever seeing a globe of Azeroth depicting the continents we know; isn't it possible that the entire Azeroth-bound game we've seen so far (aside from the "single huge continent in the distant past", maybe) is set entirely in the northern hemisphere?

It would certainly seem to explain the hot climates (jungles, deserts) in the south and the colder ones (at least Winterspring... plus of course Northrend) in the north, if nothing else.
