WoW Moviewatch: Veil of Corruption II
Today's a big day, what with all the 4.1 news from the PTR. We need something big to commemorate that. Ladies and gentlemen, click the link above to see Veil of Corruption II by Varath. This probably isn't great viewing for while at work, though; the movie is two hours long. The time is absolutely worth it. Veil of Corruption II is interesting, and it shouldn't have much trouble holding your interest all the way through.
After you've watched the movie, take the time to let Varath what you thought. This is an epic undertaking, and my hat's off to all of Varath's incredibly hard work.

I actually saw this on WarcraftMovies quite a while ago, so my recollection won't be the best, but I'll try to review what I remember:
While watching #1 can obviously clue you in on the story and events leading up prior, I'm happy to say that going in without any knowledge of the previous chapter, I was able to pick up on the story fairly quickly--big bonus points to the director for that!
Overall, I loved the story, and can say it ended up nicely without leaving any loosened ties (as far as I could tell). The only things I could possibly nitpick about was the voice acting of the lead Tauren, which I didn't care for too much, but was still very much bearable.
Overall great cudos for this marvelous undertaking, if this was a star system I'd give it an excellent 4/5. Very good!

Conveniently enough, I *just* finished watching VoC 1 about half an hour ago. :) Looking forward to watching part 2.

Here's a preview I found for part 2 if, like me, you wanted to see what you were getting into before committing to 2 hours.
Looks fantastic, very excited to see the full length film.

I didn't know there was even a Number 1. Anyone mind posting a link so we may catch up?

Well, it's not the first chapter (couldn't find it on WCM) but its a short audio summary of it. Worth a watch to try to catch up for Chapter 2:

As for my opinion on the movie, it's spectacular. The transitioning of the scenes kept you hooked onto the story. While I could make some critiques, I feel it would just make this post feel negative, and I don't want to distract from the true worth of this movie. It is quite literally so well done you can't complain about it.

Epic... just epic. I hate long machinimas... I LOVED this! Usually if it is over 3 mins, I pass. I didn't think I would watch it all... I did and I am blown away.
EPIC!!!!!

I've still not finished because, yeah I had to work today but it's AMAZING so far. I can't even imagine the amount of time it takes to put together something this massive.
Keep it up Varath!

I must admit to having mixed feelings about it. The overarching story kept me hooked and the edditing was stunning. Graphics, sound (I even recognized a track from Neverwinter Nights! NOSTALGIA!), camera work, all were amazing. There was also some good voice work, but a lot of meh voice work. Several of the main characters had odd voices or sounded like their noses were stuffed. Also, some of the dialogue was awkward (likely because English is not the first language of many of those involved). The reaction of some of the lore characters/factions seemed unrealistic considering their backstories. As I said, mixed feelings, however, some bits were just VERY good! Very very good! The chess game being played in the background, the -music- (a blend of WoW game music and various other tracks), it managed to keep me hooked. Overall, I think it could use improvements in terms of finding quality voice actors and trimming up the dialogue, but the good outweighs the bad.

it was a great machinima for those who like dramas and fleshed-out plots. i really enjoyed it and was sad it had to end.
for the first time, my voice has been featured 2 days in a row... i was Azshara, under a different stage name. :)

This...is simply stunning, the amount of time and love which went into every scene...wow! The music was spot on for the almost every scene and I can not wait for part three!!!
