Breakfast Topic: What class puts you at ease?

It's been a draining evening. Your eyes have long since become glossed over. Dungeon after dungeon -- and every single time, some moron screws it up. "If I see one more [your least favorite class] in these randoms, I'll scream!" you growl as you click "Enter Dungeon" once more. A quick scan through the portraits on the sidebar: "C'mon ... please ..." And then suddenly, a ray of hope. A spark of light (or shadow, or fire, or bullet, or nature, or blade, or whatever) -- maybe this won't be such a bad run after all, since your party now includes a ...
There are 10 potential possibilities for that statement (unless you start making up your own classes, which is silly), but any given response will require clarification. The meat of the question is this: Is there a class that, when you notice one with you in a 5-man, makes you think to yourself, "Phew. Okay. At least we have one of those." Now, what makes this difficult is the fact that there are skilled and unskilled players of every class. One person's relief is another's nightmare. Nonetheless, is there a class that causes you to breathe a sigh of relief when you see its color in your party chat?
For me, it's definitely priests. Something about those flowing robes and that sparkling yellow light fills me with a sense of calm. The sight of healing spells and protective shields radiating all around me makes me feel certain that, despite whatever trials we face, we'll pull through.
Unless it's a shadow priest. No one should be that transparent.

Paladins, FTW! Tanks, Ret, or Holy, I'm happy with a pally

I'm the same. I love to see a Paladin tank. Heals? Not so much. It's like a waste of all that plate armor.
On the other side of the token (WAS) DK tanks. Ug! It just didn't work. And I still have issues with them post Cataclysm. But that was in a BC dungeon. The Cata dungeons; not so sure. In the BC dungeon we kicked the DK tank and a Pally tank queued and the run went off without a hitch after thank. Pally tanks for the win!

I always feel naked without any pally buffs.

@some people above me--
DK tanks in BC dungeons are generally still learning their class-- they need practice to learn what they're doing, so please don't kick them just because they're not perfect. (You get a few who think unholy is a great tanking tree, but those usually shake out by 63 or so.) Usually, the class as a whole gets better once you get to Wrath, as far as player skill goes.
At level cap, blood death knights are actually my favorite tank to play of the ones I've tried at high level-- mastery really smooths out the incoming damage spikes, you have great self-healing, and right now outgoing damage and, therefore, threat is absurd. I'm in heroic-ready gear, with the conquest pvp weapon from a few weeks of occasionally winning arena matches, and I do 8-10k on some pulls in full tank gear.

More love for the DK tanks. I play a pally tank as my main and right now I like the DK better- for tanking- let me be clear. It just feels more comfortable. I am one of the few people that LOVED a set rotation for tanking. Call me a baddie or whatever you want but when I'm trying to control a beatdown I don't want to look all over the screen to see what things are popping up and play Whack-a-mole with my keyboard. It's okay to like/love specific classes for any role but remember don't be so quick to judge in return. You might be in for a pleasant surprise.

Maybe I'm nuts, but the question really wasn't phrased in a "here's a chance to tell people how awesome you think you are" kind of way, it was asking what OTHER class puts you at ease.

Despite the high rate of huntardism, when doing randoms, a hunter lets me know that we'll get through, even if I have to explain to them how to trap and sleep targets.
Buf Feb 25th 2011 8:19AM
I just want to be friends Matt. Unblock me on facebook and let's talk
MattKrotzer Feb 25th 2011 8:25AM
But... your P.O. told me not to...
Grovinofdarkhour Feb 25th 2011 9:51AM
And family and friends wonder why I'm "still" not on Facebook. Sheesh.
MattKrotzer Feb 25th 2011 9:54AM
Grovin, if it's any consolation, Buf hasn't really been trying to add me as a friend on facebook, nor do I have him blocked. It's just a creepy running gag he's trying out, apparently.
Grovinofdarkhour Feb 25th 2011 10:40AM
Oh. Well in that case.... nope. Just not seeing it. Sorry, "Buf."

Seriously, between the best CC in the game with trap launcher + freezing trap, a multitude of pet buffs, aggro management, and absurd dps, I'd say I'm probably the most at-home when I see one or more Hunters in my random dungeon groups.
Incidentally, Hunters do not, in fact, suffer from diminishing returns. My healbot interface got a little crowded with two extra bars (pets) to heal, but good lord. That was the smoothest Halls of Origination Run imaginable.
Tayacan Feb 25th 2011 8:06AM
Nah.. If it's that bad, I'll just stop doing dungeons. Take a break.
BoB Feb 25th 2011 8:09AM
Paladin always makes me feel calm, knowing I'm impossible to kill and can hearthstone at anytime.
