"Candy Coin"?And there I was just the other day thinking "You know, not enough holidays require you to grind some specific currency."

Thinking the same thing.Great. now to get everything you could get before freely, you are going to have to get shitloads of coins.I am going to be pissed if they take the random items in candy bags, and stick them on a vendor, and it ends up being like the Fire Festival or Brewfest, where you have to do the dailies every damn day or you can't get everything, or in the case of Brewfest, not even everything.

Heh, beats the hell out of the old system. Before the stupid love tokens, once an hour you could go up to guard, flirt with him/her, and you'd get a box that MIGHT contain what you need to complete the event. Don't want to wait an hour? you can flirt with up to 15 people to get another box, provided none of them turned you down, breaking your heart rendering unable to do jack until someone shared a friendship bracelet, which if memory serves was also a largely random thing. The RNG was so bad blizzard had to nerf the candied heart achievement so you only needed a handful of the candied hearts (which yes, were random drops from a bag that was a random drop from a box)I wear, you kids today with your holiday currency and your lfg holiday bosses don't know how good you got it...

"Great. now to get everything you could get before freely, you are going to have to get shitloads of coins."It's not any different. You work towards something incrementally instead of farming for drops. Items you get from coins are just as "free" as items you got from drops.

I'll take currency to RNG any day of the week. Except maybe on thursdays...

Currency sucks when it's like Brewfest. Do every single daily every single day of the event, or you won't be able to buy everything.squig_masta, I was doing Brewfest before there even WAS a boss. I was doing it when the original currency was tickets that didn't expire. When the highest item you could buy was the Brewfest Ram, the Kodo didn't exist. And the next highest item was the Brew of the Month Club membership form.Zanathos, yes, the RNG of the trick or treat bags suck, but my point here is that it's going to suck if it's made into another grind fest like every other holiday has become. There was a time when a holiday was just fun on it's own. Now it seems like more and more are being put into a "get currency, buy items, and it all gets reset next year". It's like no holidays vary now except go do dailies, get currency, buy items for Achievements. The fun of the holiday gets taken out if you have to log in every single day of the holiday, and grind out the quests, or you don't get shit. Fix the terrible RNG of the trick or treat bags. Give someone else my toothpicks. People complain about never seeing them, I get them all the time. I never see several items in the bags. But don't make it into yet another grind fest for the currency,

I'm hoping this lives up to my vision of a possible solution... (one I'e had in mind for some time).I pray we can use this currency to purchase holiday mounts and pets in the future. I honestly don't care if it takes 500 coins and requires 3 years of farming Hallows End dailies to get enough, it still beats the RNG knowing that you're guaranteed a reward in the end.I've been after the HH mount for 4 (or has it been 5) years on my main... I saw it several times back in the day but never won the roll. And last year, I took 5 toons to the HH event every day, and not a one of them came away with the mount. Please, please, please Blizzard. Make it so we can farm these rewards via time and effort and not be forced to rely on the RNG.But I'm surprised there was no mention of the Mid-Summer Fire Festival... Every holiday needs some sort of token. I hope they bring the scorchling pet back. Adding it and the lil' rock elemental to a vendor would be a nice prelude to the Hallow's End changes.

Since it took one of my mains FOUR Hallow's Ends for a Sinister Squashling to finally appear, I'd take coins over RNG every time. The change to "Love is in the Air" was a definite improvement, considering that same main was jilted by the RNG the year before the change; I even set an alarm to wake me once an hour during the last night of the event (which at that time was a much shorter holiday), just to make yet another attempt to get a stinking candy bag. Yay, I got 5 out of 8 candies, which even after the nerf still wasn't enough. The only disappointment I ever had over Brewfest was the change to the holiday resulting from all the bitching by folks who didn't like doing the dailies every single day. I did the dailies--wow, 15 minutes per day--and by the end I had enough tickets to buy either a ram or the clothing. I bought the clothing, and now every year the holiday rolls around I kick myself for not buying the ram. I had eight 80s when last year's BF rolled around, and even after doing Direbrewfest every day with each of them, only one ram ever appeared. And yet all the impatient raiders who want their rewards NOW rather than after they've accumulated tickets (I'm sure they never once visited a badge vendor) are much happier, since the ram is a completely random drop you can no longer buy anymore, and it shows off what a master of the RNG they really are.And yet I wonder how they'd feel if I had bought a ram handstamp for my level 25 alt that one year it was available. They'd piss blood at the sight of a low-level scrub riding around on a Brewfest Ram.Am I bitter? What do you think?
