I'm an officer of WoW Insider's guilds on Zangarmarsh and play there exclusively with other members of the WI community. If not for that, I probably would have already given up and quit the game already.

Likewise, I rolled an alt on Zangarmarsh when the Choose My Adventure thing had several writers kicking around just to ask Mr. Van Allen some questions about spriesting, got an invite to the guild and moved my main over shortly after. Between the comraderie and all the info I've gotten from WowInsider, I really feel like i know the game and my class a lot better.
Plus, I got my first Best In Slot items ever (pre-raid, of course). I never thought I'd be considered well-geared, and I probably won't be once more content rolls out, but I'm a happy little ball of shadowy dispersion for the time being.

I sure enjoy the site for all the help like the 101 articles (having alts of every class), but since I'm an ultra-casual player, there's no way I could've joined a guild since no one in my circle of real-life friends or at work plays this game. I even got to do my first raid last week thanks to you guys (Ahrgh)!
