WoW Insider's Weekly Webcomic: Safe Passage
Welcome to another edition of WoW Insider's Weekly Comic, Safe Passage. This comic takes place post-Cataclysm, so there will be minor spoilers.
Everything was going great. We were getting the kids back to a safe place, and everyone was nice and welcoming -- and then you just had to go and do something stupid. This is why we can't go anywhere nice anymore.
Check out the full comic right here, and tune in next Tuesday morning for a new page. You can also see all the previous pages in the gallery below.

This was inevitable, but I'm on the edge of my seat nonetheless.

Oh NOOOEEESSss!

This will not have a happy ending if it is any bit realistic ... for an MMORPG. Well, I just realized I said "realistic" when referring to a fantasy game with magic, orcs, elves, dragons, and elemental planes.
So yeah.
Erm.
How 'bout those Yankees!

Why does it have to be a week between these >.
StClair Mar 1st 2011 3:56PM
To be given a fair trial followed by a swift execution.
Takshash Mar 1st 2011 4:27PM
...followed by the elemental wrath of one very angry Lisaara. But I dearly hope it doesn't go that way and cooler heads prevail.

Hmm, this has a potential to go the way of certain stories where the people doing nothing wrong are cast as villains (in this case the Alliance soldiers performing security) and the heroes on one side end up essentially performing an act of treason, killing these people unjustly to free the heroes on the other side.
I hope I'm wrong, as I never liked those kind of plot twists... especially when these people are suddenly cast as brutal villains for doing what is essentially self defense.

Indeed...of course, the ideal resolution would be something nonviolent, where misunderstandings get cleared up. Because yes, certainly, the Alliance soldiers are only doing what they need to do to assure the security of the fort. Nobody is a villain here -- the very definition of a tragedy in fiction.

Kind of like Illidan's guards?

While I'd say a similar event had the potential to go bad quickly in a different comic, I don't think that's going to happen in this one. There's a feel to the story Kelly's been telling so far, and ending in blood and death and a big fight wouldn't fit in. Seems more like it's the kind of story everyone squints menacingly at each other then slowly backs away.

Ugh. Unfortunately what I feared seems to be coming true (the new post isn't up for the new comic (3/8/11), so I figure I'd put the comment here). The Alliance is portrayed as brutal and intolerant compared to our main Horde characters.
I hope this doesn't go the cliched "Alliance is awful" route it so looks like it is going in at this moment.

NOOOOOOOO!!
OMG, I'm on pins and needles until next week's comic. I dearly hope the night elf (or one/both of the kids) will get to be a proper hero, but I'm not gonna bet that things will turn out okay for our dear orc and troll...

Am I blind? Because I haven't seen this pop up (as a separate post) on the front page for months... It's always been hidden in the daily comics posts. I saw the posts if I browsed the category but never on the front page (until now).

For the past couple of weeks, it usually would come in the late afternoon instead of in the morning.

Oh, and I'd just like to add -- my goodness, I LOVE seeing WoW human males who don't look like steroid abusers!

Nooooooooooooooo......!
Damn it, I have a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach and it is going to be there ALL WEEK until the next page comes up. Probably longer since it will likely take more than one page to resolve this. ;_;
