The Classifieds: Enrich your character history with in-game RP workshop

Pox held a roleplay workshop on Shadow Council (US-H) a few weeks ago. The feedback from the event was excellent; people came by and had a great time. The hosts were knowledgeable and helpful. These workshops look like a great opportunity to expand roleplay in the wild.
This time, they're tackling character histories. Creating a backstory that respects WoW's huge history and lore while avoiding some of the common 'traps' and over-done character history pit-falls are just some of the topics the guild will cover. Oh, and there's cake. Lots of cake. For more info, visit www.wearepox.com. The event takes place March 5 at 6 p.m. mountain time at Thunder Bluff's bonfire. Everyone is welcome (alliance are asked to rock the scene in a Horde body).
Random Acts of Uberness
It's when another player lights up your night with precise play, a wicked sense of humor or unexpected generosity that your login becomes something to remember. Share your Random Acts of Uberness with theclassifieds@wowinsider.com. Keep things brief (150 words or less, please), and be sure to list everyone's character names and home realms or battlegroup.
Erynalia of Azuremyst (US-A) "Hello Classifieds - if you could send a shoutout to Erynalia from the guild Echoes of Infinity on Azuremyst Alliance, that would be awesome. Erynalia is a scribe who, when I didn't have the darkmoon card she needed to trade for, just GAVE me the last one I needed to make my deck. If that isn't uber, I don't know what is. Thank you again from Rhii (scribe) and Rhee (resto shammy who is getting a Tsunami card) on Azuremyst! You'll be welcome to a return favor from me any time." -- Rhii/Rhee, Azuremyst (US-A)Employment: Guild recruitment

I wish those kind of RP events were held on EU servers... But then again, maybe I just don't hear about it :O

^This, The Venture Co needs more love =

Forgive my ignorance, but there's no way for a EU player to roll on a US server? As the host of these workshops I'd really love to see you there. I'd give you extra cookies for making the effort. Though if anyone is interested in running workshops I can also give info on how I do it...I don't mind. :)
Anything to bolster WoW's redheaded child, RP.

@ duck: As far as I know, you need the US client to connect to the US servers, and a EU client to connect to EU servers. You can't mix and match (sadly, I'd love to log on to a EU server)
Duckaholica Mar 2nd 2011 2:32PM
That's too bad. I guess you'd have to download both clients then have an account for each? Bummer.
I was thinking of videotaping the event and doing a voice over but that's 1> scary and 2> very boring (all you'd see is me staring at people).
Oh well! We do post our notes, which we use as a basis for our event, on our site at www.wearepox.com, then update later that day/next day with questions and answers from the event.

You could make a trial account on the US servers and edit yout realmlist.wtf file in your Data --> enGB folder. Just change everything from EU to US. I don't know how legal this is though.

Dammit, forgot to make my post a reply - here it is:
I'll have to see if I can figure something out - this sounds way too awesome not to at least try. If I do show up, it will be under the name Tayacan - and I want my extra cookies!

I don't think I've ever met a single bad person before on Azuremyst, the realm as a whole seems to be a very great place (and yes, even in Trade). I'm sure that if for whatever reason if I wanted to start all over again on a new realm, I would probably go there.

, a member of the Spreading Taint family of LGBT guilds on US-Proudmoore Horde side, is recruiting ranged DPS (except for mages) and an enh shaman or two for 25 and 10 man content. We are especially interested in hunters, ele shaman and the aforementioned enh shaman.
If interested, you can apply to the Taint guilds at http://taint.rtgc.org/app.php, and mention that you are interested in a Raiders spot. We are 4/12 in 25 man raiding one night per week, and 9/12 in 10 man raiding two nights per week. Come join us!
Quorniya Mar 2nd 2011 1:59PM
Dammit, HTML fail - the guild name is Raiders of da Lost Taint.

Ooh, I see myself in that screenshot of the RP event, I'm so proud of me that I technically made it on Wow.com!
