According to a statement from Blizzard
on Eurogamer, patch 4.1 will not contain Firelands and the associated raid content. Lead producer J. Allen Brack cited the fact that players hadn't sufficiently progressed through the current tier of raid content as the reason for this decision. Eurogamer provides the quote: "We feel like the player base isn't really ready for the next raid yet," [Brack] said. "And that led to some changes where Firelands is now actually going to be in 4.2."
This is a step toward much smaller (and faster) content patches, much as we had back in vanilla
WoW. Blizzard could release a small set of features far more rapidly than the current "monolithic" patches. Firelands and its associated raid content will now be included in patch 4.2.
Patch 4.1 will entirely focus on the return of Zul'Aman and Zul'Gurub.

There was a typo in the post. I happened to be first, so i commented on it. No idea why it was downrated into oblivion.

TRANSLATION: A 10-year old cares more about getting first post in a blog than he does about the article, so he tries to be a crafty 12-year old and changes the wording around but instead fails like an 8-year old.
Seriously, what happened to constructive criticism? There wasn't even a "Blizzard fails, WoW is ruined" quote. So what if it's held back for another content patch? I for one am glad. My guild's 9/12 so far and I just joined, which means I can get some time to actually see the fights. Sure I'm not as good as those heroic Nefarian groups but I have my own pace of things. I'm happy tier 11 will still be useful; I only scrounged enough valor to get one piece and a tank sigil to be honest.

because grammar nazis are just as bad as 1st idiots

I read the entire article before posting, and it was up for some time. No battling for a first. The typo has been corrected already, but at the time, "Lead producer" read as "Lead produced." It didn't have anything to do with being a "grammar Nazi" over capitalization. Something like that obviously wouldn't get caught in a spell check, and since it was a breaking news post it may not have been proofread. In that case, the writer usually is more than OK with someone pointing out a small error like that so that it can be changed. A typo like that could prevent people using search engines from finding the post.
TL;DL Don't assume you know what the error was by seeing the correction.

I have downed everything, except sinestra (which is getting there), and all I have to look forward to is 2 rehashed older dungeons. This is a big fail in my eyes. After this announcement the soonest we can expect really new content is 2+ months. I can't imagine farming the current raid tier for 2+ months.
Zabre Mar 4th 2011 9:56AM
@Lockomotive - we farmed ICC for an entire year - a couple more months of current raid content is a good thing for the majority of the player base.

Oh wow. This is gonna be trouble.

Hubble bubble, trolls and trouble! :D

I really think that if they just named the ZG/ZA patch like...4.0.9 or something and saved the raid for 4.1, there would be sooooo much less complaining.
MAJER PATCH MEANS NEW RAYD WTF BLIZZZ
I'm looking at WoWProgress numbers right now. Based on these, I think it's a good decision. Less than 20% of guilds in the world have done Nefarian on reg.

People seem to have forgotten that vanilla WoW had 12 (1.1 didn't really count) major patches.

@Cilgulla:
Wow, you worked hard on that analogy.

@ Cali
Show me on this doll where Ghostcrawler touched you.
Seriously, I am glad you found a game on your skill level. The MMO spectum is wide, and if WOW is too hard, there is RIFT.
Rai Mar 3rd 2011 8:12PM
That's fine, design and all. I'm just hoping they'll add a raid besides Firelands and Deathwingapalooza this expansion, which, while unlikely, would cause all sorts of trouble.
Vespene -GameTrailers- Mar 3rd 2011 8:14PM
The War of the Ancients.

We're set. Who's got the Aspect of Earth-shaped pinata?
Dreyja Mar 4th 2011 1:11AM
Yeah, honestly, compared to similar updates on other expansions, I'm not surprised. I REALLY don't get what the freaking RUSH is for a lot of people.
We have never moved on to new end game content THIS fast... I have no idea why people seem to be expecting it now.

No more Raggy in pantaloons?

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this. I suppose it is interesting that it will let people catch up and get finished with the tier 11 raids while waiting for tier 12.
But I think I prefer the style of giant patches full of all kinds of nifty stuff at once. It always made it feel like suddenly everything had changed.
loop_not_defined Mar 3rd 2011 8:50PM
Unless we're talking about a full year, like from 3.3 to 4.0. :(
