This video was originally created as just a guild tribute, using Rock Me Amadeus. However, with tank Matteaus's birthday coming around, it quickly became a kind of video hug to that player. It's always nice to see this kind of camaraderie and friendship in a guild.
Tank For Me Matteaus is a fun video, and the music helps it flow smoothly. I especially loved the shots of certain critters dancing; the turkey getting its groove on was especially funny to me. The only downside is that the words felt muddled and hard to make out, though that could just be me. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an email at moviewatch@wowinsider.com.
Guys, you apparently all missed that these are the original words from the Falco song.
A) Never really meant to be brilliant, or even understood.
B) They were apparently just using the music/song concept, in clever combo with the dude's name.
I got a big kick out of it, especially the Jormunger; synching that one up with the music must have been a total beeyatch!
It brought a slight moment of chokeup for me, because of the generosity of spirit and gratitude behind this project. What would WoW be like if we all showed at least restraint, if not outright positive energy and appreciation like this in the game>
Thank you so much, Shaun. I never expected the video to be even suggested to Wow Insider, it was just something intended for my guildmates. To have it here has been overwhelmingly flattering to say the very least, and your compliment was just as appreciated.
I found myself grinning all the way through - a real celebration of the fun and silliness and epicness of warcraft! I love machinima that show the creators' love of the game coming through; to me that's more important than technical skill. Great vid!
Thank you so much, Kook. If it's one thing my guild sets its aim for, it is on enjoying the game and having fun. We never take ourselves too seriously, and my guild is the reason why I play. Family doesn't end at blood and my guild and friends are no exception.
I never would have thought this video would have ended up here, and I am flattered that my friend, Matteaus, would have suggested it to Wow Insider. But to have it actually posted here is beyond epic.
What was it; his 13th birthday? (lol, blood elf burn) But it was a nice thing he got from his guild. The only thing I ever got from my guild was Shadow's Edge. FML
The video was never intended for any kind of exposure like this, it was just a gift of appreciation for my friend and guildmates, which is what's most important to me. The thoughtfulness that Matteaus suggested this video to Wow Insider was flattering, and the fact that they chose it is beyond epic.
I can agree that it isn't anywhere near the quality that us as viewers are generously given by so many talented machinamists and songmakers, but it's encouraging to see that many here could see beyond that and feel the intention of the video. I do, however appreciate every reply, so thank you for your honesty.
Also, the song is mostly sung in German if that helps. =)
Thank you so very much, Michael, for featuring my video on WoW Moviewatch. To have the video suggested to this site was extremely flattering, to have it actually posted is beyond epic! My guild is the reason why I play WoW, and we're always looking for ways to have fun and never take things too seriously. Family doesn't end at blood, and my friends and guild are no exception.
Every reply here and every view has been appreciated, though it was never intended for such a large audience, however I do aspire to achieve the quality that us as viewers are so treated to see with the caliber of machinamists and songmakers in the community. I must add that the turkey was one of my favorite parts as well. Oh! And the song is mostly sung in German, which is partially responsible for sounding muddled.
Again, thank you so much! You've made a birthday, a guild, and an aspiring machinamist feel even more special!
