Curse of the Worgen #4 on sale now online and at comic stores

Gilneas City erupts into violence as the worgen attack! During the madness, Halford seeks understanding behind who is friend and who is foe, while also dealing with his own animalistic worgen urge to kill. In desperation, King Greymane forms an unlikely alliance...The World of Warcraft comic miniseries Curse of the Worgen is nearly at the end of its five-issue run. Issue #4 is now available for purchase both online and at your favorite local comic shop. The five-part series, written by Micky Neilson and James Waugh with artwork by Ludo Lullabi and Tony Washington, details the origins of Gilneas and the worgen curse in a way that the worgen starting zone can't even begin to encompass.
If you have not picked up this series, I highly recommend it -- the artwork is stunning, and the story is one of the best put out by the Warcraft comics team to date. If you're a fan of the worgen in Warcraft, this series is a must-read.

Anne do you plan on writing a comic review for the series? I mean you're highly recommending it to me, and I love the Worgen story, but I would like a more in-depth..opinion I guess.

Stunning artwork? Isn't it the same spiky hair, big eyes, over-the-top manga crap like the rest of the wow comics? Maybe at least the story is closer in quality to Ashbringer, rather than the main wow comic (the one that spawned the abomination known as med'an).

This comic is a real COMIC. Not a MANGA. They are two different things.

Judging by the picture used as the header, I'm going to take a gander and say, no, no it is not a manga.

There are some manga influences in the work though. He's not completely wrong. Thankfully some of the characters are a lot more detailed and less stereo-typical than others.
There's still a bit of the bobble-heads with spiky hair in there and the females we've seen so far are the usual wretched top-heavy bodies with stick-legs we are used to, ESPECIALLY in Manga. Thankfully there are fewer crotch-shots now that Valeera isn't jumping around all over the place.
Sorry, I know, people like boobies. I'm a little sick of battle-barbies when it would be so easy to draw females with a believable amount of muscle that are still attractive. (Not meaning body builders here - but athletes)
Yes I've been reading comics all my life and YES hyper-sexualized dimporphism has always been part of it. I can't help but hope for better, once in a while. ;-p
/rant over. XD

Any sign of female worgen in print yet? It's just so weird to see them absolutely NOWHERE when you can find males and females of any other player race everywhere.

I doubt you'll see a female Worgen since these issues were likely sketched out before the female model was done.

One can only hope that if they do show up they'll look way better than the in-game model. :)

Thankfully the actual Worgen designs we have seen so far are truly AWESOME. I could only wish that the comic artists could have had some influence on the eventual in-game design for the females. X-p

The only "official" female worgen I've seen aside from the concept sketches is the one for the TCG. And she looks nothing like either the alpha model or the live model. As someone who was so heavily looking forwards to female worgen, I can't help but get my hopes up when new worgen stuff is released only to be immediately crestfallen when it inevitably is a complete testosterone-fest.

Well I can't wait to get my hands on this one. I managed to miss #3 some how so I'm glad I've got a good chunk of reading when I can get to my local comic shop. :) I got #1 online but nothing beats holding the real thing in your fingers. This is coming from an avid kindle-fan. The artwork in a comic just needs to be held.
And yes, the artwork is actually pretty amazing, aside from my rant about the female form above, overall, I do really like how they are handling the visual side of the story telling. I just wish each book was longer. :) I want bigger chunks of the story but then, that's anticipatory joy of comic books.
