The Daily Quest: Druids druids druids and a side of wands

WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere.
When I first rolled a character during the original WoW beta, I had a tough choice to make. Would I be a sword- and shield-bearing warrior? A sneaky rogue? A mage who cast brilliant and shiny spells, or a warlock who trafficked with demons and the shadowy arts? The answer was none of the above; I went with a druid, and the druid became my first "official" WoW character upon game launch as well.
I wish I could say it was because I was fascinated with being able to heal or tank or with the rich lore behind the druid class. But in the end, it was because I could turn into a kitty. Kitties are awesome.
Today, we've got a few posts from around the blogosphere regarding everyone's favorite shapeshifting, tree-hugging class:

Today, we've got a few posts from around the blogosphere regarding everyone's favorite shapeshifting, tree-hugging class:
- Restokin wonders if you've noticed the quiet introduction of dancing for the new tree form in 4.0.6.
- Tree Bark Jacket talks about the desirability of resto druids come patch 4.1.
- The Inconspicuous Bear chats about adapting your cat for 4.0.6.
- Lastly, unrelated to druids but still incredibly interesting, Healer Aggro ponders the possibility of an Ollivander's style wand shop in WoW.

My first character in the open beta was a NE Druid, as well as at launch. I only got him up to level 26 before I couldn't stand it anymore (Vanilla was a dark time for Druids), but way later in BC I started a Tauren Druid alt, which eventually became my main. I love Druids so much now. We rock! :D

Also, new blog post at Corath's Blog (http://corath.wordpress.com)
As many others are, I give my thoughts about Blizzard moving the Firelands raid to patch 4.2 instead of 4.1, and how timing how frequently the patches come out is very important.

Enjoy!

I had been playing City of Heroes when WoW launched and when a friend pestered me enough I finally gave wow a shot. I remember watching the opening cinematic and when the Night Elf takes off running into the forest and turns into a cat I turned to him and said "That. I wanna do that. How do I do that."
So I rolled a Night Elf Druid.
Vanilla was a hard time for kitties, though and I ended up shelving the character at level 31 until the end of Wrath. She's a troll now and an Alt rather than my main, she has always been and will always be a Kitty.

First characters pretty much followed the cinematic. Dwarf hunter. Nelf druid. Tauren shaman. Got completely shat upon by my server's Horde players so I went back to my nelf druid who still is my main all these years later. I still honor the old "pax druidica" and refuse to interfere with Tauren druids unless its a battleground.
Heck, I'm rolling another druid as a worgen just so I can have another set of options without respec-ing.
